Twilight: Wedding Barbie Dolls.

Just two or three posts ago I was talking about how much a wedding-edition Twilight dolls were needed, but thought no company wanted to invest in this franchise anymore, however, this morning I got a "OH YES YOU WILL BUY OUR DOLLS" slap right in teh face!!

That's right! We're getting wedding dolls and I'm actually pretty excited about it! I know the Barbie Twilight dolls don't look like the actors at all, and I believe it is because it's only regular Barbie *dressed* as Bella. Same as last post, Bella doll is stunning. From what I can discern in these pics, she seems to have a pretty detailed dress with her pretty lace cuffs and little lining buttons. I hope her stilettos are the same ones from the movie, they did make a big deal outta them *coughbloody-wedding-nightmare-sequencecough* so I'm expecting a cute mini-replica as well.

They did, however, do something really weird with Ken tho, some kind of plastic surgery or face transplant that neither is Ken anymore, nor resembles Edward at all. SO WEIRD. It's the same one from the previous doll series and I just hate it every time I see it. It's spakly, we can give him that. As for the rest...well, I'm not going to fret over it anymore. I'm just going to swallow hard and whip out my wallet for him too. u.u *sigh*

Wizard of Oz: OOoo! Wind me up!

These last few months have been a blast for me! Both materialistically and spiritually, but on this blog I only talk about THINGS I collect, so we'll focus on that.

Let me preface this by saying I've never liked the dolls that open and close their eyes if laid down or sit up, even when I was a kid I found them unnatural and creepy. My biggest fear (and anyone's else I suppose) is that they will open their eyes when they're supposed to be closed. OMG. So anyway, as I searched for WoZ collectibles on eBay, I came across some Madame Alexander dolls. Even though they're the blinking kind, they were really pretty, however, they're expensive like fuck. I then realized McDonald's had come up with their own version: Some not-so-cute Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz figures. I specifically bought the first edition of the Happy Meal toys. They were fairly cheap, I got the entire set of 9(?) figures for like 10 bucks. As expected, they were cheap looking and poorly detailed. Here is a pic of three of them:

Moving on. The other day, I was tweeting back and forth with my friend Luz and somehow WoZ topic came out and she mentioned she worked part time at a store that had all kinds of random goodies. She found these wind-up walkers among all the collectibles and sent me this pic. They were actually pretty cute/funny looking. Luz is super super sweet and offered to buy one for me. I normally like to collect the both witches and Dorothy, but there was no Dorothy and I wasn't too sure about how hard it would be to find Glinda later on, so I asked for her. Sorry W.W.W., we'll meet at another time. u.u

Once, I receive the package in the mail I was completely shocked at how colorful and cute the box design is! The pics sent me certainly showed they were vintage items so I was expecting some color fade, but I'm glad it's as vivid as printing day, and it was in great condition too!! I'm so happy with it! It also turns out they are 50th anniversary toys, which is always a plus! Thank you Luz!! :D

And finally, for Christmas I made a gift exchange with my friend Brad who lives in Japan. Brad and I became acquainted through the Sailor Moon fandom so I figured I'd give him something Moonie related for our exchange. However he complety surprised me by sending me the WoZ blu ray! Even though it was in my wish list, I wasn't expecting it at all, I thought he would send me SM related items (which he also did x333). I now officially have a kick-ass version of one of my fave movies!!! YAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!! THX so much Brad!

Wonder Woman: Random goods.

I think I've discovered a little pattern to the things I like to collect. I have a variety of small collections that range from Sailor Moon, Coraline and Rainbow Brite, to Twilight, Pirates of the Caribbean and Wizard of Oz. By far, the items I enjoy the most are of magical girls. I know it's not the case with Jack Sparrow or Twilight, but mostly female leads who have some kind of magic powers or supernatural weapons.

Yep, that's where I'm at.

There are a bunch of magical girls in the anime and in the general comic industry, so I could be a collector of many, many dolls but I only collect those who are/have been very near and dear to my heart. The strange thing is, for some reason I began to have fixation with Wonder Woman. I'm going to underline STRANGE REASON because there is no reason why I should collect Wonder Woman stuff at all. I hardly have a vague idea of her powers, her story, her part in the bigger DC universe and all the subplots in the Justice League. What I remember the most about her comes from the re-runs I saw as a child of the super amazing Lynda Carter live-action version. Even as a kid I could see the sex appeal and strength this woman had. She was so rad!

I watched some of the Justice League cartoons, but I was never really *into* them. Into my early twenties I began to draw her a lot. I didn't even care for accuracies, I just loved that she looked bad-ass, sexy and dangerous all in the same suit (and the little stars on her shorts helped too!). I became so obsessed, I drew my own original characters dressed as Wonder Woman. I became SO OBSESSED I dressed my BFF as WONDER WOMAN!!! *0*!!

Awwww, we had so much fun that day. Hahhahahaa! Anyway, I have a very small WW collection, and I don't plan to expand it very much. In fact, the only pieces I have were gifts from loved ones, but the more I look at them, the more I confirm that I do indeed love the shape and looks of the daughter of Greek gods. Yep. I'd ride that curvy road (!?!?). This first doll was given to me by my friend Dulce about three years ago. I just took her out once before and her stand broke, so she's been locked up behind closet doors since then, I only took her out again a week ago for these pics:

My second figure is the Kotobukiya Bishoujo figure. I got this one last year when I assisted to a comic expo in Mexico City with my mom. I wasn't sure if I should buy her because she looked a bit...errr... "male oriented", as if no girl would ever have this in her house, but I really couldn't take my eyes off of the sculpture. Sure, she is a little on the hentai-ish side, but a skillful artist worked hard on this piece and that is something anyone should appreciate. Up to then, I didn't own anything as extravagant as this Kotobukiya piece and I was absolutely fascinated by her. I bought her as my second WW and LAST hentai-ish toy xD!!

My friend Luz randomly decided to gift me a WW shirt, and I really really dig it! It has the "washed" look to it and the style is so pop! I'm not sure if she knows about my fixation or not, but she involuntarily has cooperated in expanding my tiny collection. xD!

Speaking of shirts: During the final days of December 2011, my brother, my father, other guests and I spent a fun day at Six Flags Mexico on one of the days between Christmas and New Years Eve. Being a franchise, this park carries the same characters and themes as all the Six Flags in US do, mostly Looney Toons and some DC Comics' characters. As in any of these parks, once you get off the roller-coaster, you are forced to exit the ride through the gift shop (in this case it was the Superman, Last Escape ride). The shop was full of Superman memorabilia, but I was attracted by the girlier corner of the store where I found these little treasures:

OMFG! I was THISCLOSE to buying that face-pillow, it was cute, affordable and I hadn't seen another one like it yet. The only reason I didn't was because I figured I could return to the store before leaving the park and buy it then, instead of carrying it all day long through the water rides and crowded lines. Alas, we had our fun in the park and left when most shops had been closed for the day. BOOooo!! As I recall, it was pretty cold that day too. Some light rain had wet our clothes and the winter breeze decided it was a good day to come out and play. I did find myself tempted to buy one of the sweatshirts above (with the WW logo), but I didn't think it was cool enough for me! Specially after I saw this knitted sweater Practically Polly made a few years ago and I've wanted one like that since then. OMG! It's been years and I still love her sweater so-so much! Maybe one day I'll make my own. Maybe.

Twilight: Wedding Tonner Dolls.

Here we go again! DOLLS! I LURVE DOLLSSS!!

This pair was painted (as usual) by the super talented Noeling whom I have blogged about before. As expected, no doll makers invest in Twilight dolls anymore, so I was very disappointed I would not have a wedding Bella/Edward but, Noel never disappoints! He always works on fabulous custom dolls and this version was something I was expecting to see from him. These were re-painted from previous versions of the Tonner firgures and he fitted them with their formal attires (but did not include the clothes at the auction). He sold the pair on Ebay a few weeks ago. Normally, collectors go to wild bidding amounts for Edward dolls, but this time, Bella was the star! She ended at about $2700 USD. WOW! His gorgeous work is absolutely worth it!

Tokidoki: Plushies.

Alright, maybe blogging about it will make me feel better, it has worked before. New Tokidoki plushies that I really really want but feel uncomfortable paying $60 total ($20 ea.) for them. I need to sleep on it because the more I look at them, the more I know I'm going to regret not buying the set now that they're affordable. AAAGGHHh!! My three faves! Donutella, Kaiju and Stellina! ;_;

They're sold out on the TKDK site but available at the same price on eBay.

Hmmmm... I need to think about these ones.

Wizard of Oz: Twister Store

Last week, we drove to Universal Studios as part as a small tradition I have with my dad to go there every year. We normally visit only Islands of Adventure because it has many more roller coasters, which we greatly enjoy, but this year we decided to return to Universal Park after 5 years. We got in the "Twister" Movie experience, and the shop outside of the ride had a lot of tornado-related souvenirs, some of them being, well, Wizard of Oz. I love Wizard of Oz merch, it's a huge part of my collection, but I've become a little more selective as to what kind of toys I acquire, and of course, the amount of money I want to spend. There were some seriously adorable figures there, I really enjoyed the ballerina figures, the small snow globes, the salt/pepper Ruby Slipper shakers and the mugs! Those mugs! I was really tempted to buy at least one coffee mug.

I had the potential to cut loose and buy everything in sight but had to limit myself to only one product. I chose the "Are you a good witch or a bad witch" figurine that has all three main characters I collect, but the price was about $45. Not cheap. I eyed the price tags on the other toys only to realize they were slightly out of my comfort zone, so I completely had to walk away. Sad. But these pictures will forever remind me how purty the toys look and Who knows?! I might go back some day and buy them all! :D

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Review.

The internet is full of reviews already, mine isn't necessary, but this is more of a self-oriented blog anyway and I do what I want! HA! #takethatinternetz

I finally watched Breaking Dawn Pt.1. I was dreading this movie before I even saw it. This book has a pretty slow beginning with a movie to reflect it, so there is no way you would find me in line at the premiere date. Anyway, let's just jump into this review!

First scene: Jacob taking off after he receives the wedding invitation. This should've happened at the end of Eclipse and I was actually expecting to see it back then, but I'm glad i was included on this movie. So first thing, he takes his shirt off and phases. The ONLY time we will se him shirtless which pisses me off, not because I'm a pervert drooling over his abs (which I totally am), but because the character is described shirtless most of the time. This scene is so short, it's worth a looping .gif to appreciate teh hot wolfie over and over.

Edward steps into Bella's room as she is packing her last human belongings . He has decided to be honest with her and explaining that he is not completely sin-free. There is a flash back of his human-killing days which I found so, so GOOD!! It was awesome giving Edward a little back story like that! Elegant yet dark and mysterious. Dare I say it was kind of HOT? Of course, a killer is never hot and I hate that behavior, but Edward was marked by his past, it makes him a bit deep and human. I believe this happens way back in the first book, and it was an amazing idea to include this retrospective of Eddie, we never had a look at his past, and being the main counterpart, getting to know him better on-screen was quite fulfilling.

The entire dream and real wedding sequences were dreadfully slow, I really don’t think there was a need for us to sit there and watch the WHOOOOLE walk down the aisle, hear the entire length of the vows and the "I dos". The choice of music for Bella walking down the isle was very sweet: “Turning Page” by Sleeping at Last, although I was VERY disappointed when they played the original version of Iron and Wine’s “Flightless Bird” during their kiss and not the wedding version that appears on the soundtrack. Anyway, let's talk about dress: HOLY CRAP that dress. At first I wasn't impressed, but after seeing the more detailed pictures on the web, it has grown on me. Not your traditional puffy mess, but delicate, slender and it definitely has the "retro" feel to it described in the book.

Following the ceremony came the party, which was alright. They did get those key points in, where Irina gets angry at the sight of Seth, as well as the intimate Jacob/Bella dance. The newlyweds departing to her honeymoon was sooooo loooong. Bella was giving her farewells to her parents and she stood there with each one exchanging LONGEST good bye looks. I understand this was a permanent goodbye for Bella, but really, it was tedious watching the loooong sighs and take after take of their faces as they hugged. They could have saved all these precious ticking seconds for more important clarifications later on (I’ll get to that).

Isle Esme. Contrary to most Twilighters, I wasn’t hyped up to see what happens on this island. I just let it happen and that was that. Sure, I still think they could have cut out some fillers like Bella shaving and having her breakdown, or the sexy dream that turned to sex and so on (although in the book it was even more tedious, what with her watching movies and her weird baby dreams), but in general I feel quite satisfied with it, specially since we DO get to see Edward talking Portuguese. EDWARD TALKING PORTUGUESE!!! HOLY CRAP! I’m not much of a “Rob-girl”, but damn it! This may be a game changer! I don’t speak Portuguese, but have a vague idea of how it should sound, and I think it was pretty close. HOT HOT HOT.

There is a small scene where the Quileutes are sitting on La Push beach talking about the sore feelings Jacob has after losing Bella and how some of the wolves are uncomfortable not being imprinted, hanging around those who are. Now see, this scene is a place where additional minutes and explanation are REALLY needed. As I have stated before, the previous films made very quick references to imprinting, so this movie NEEDED to clarify what it was and how Quil and Claire are already bonded by this phenomenon, but they didn’t say anything, they ignored the whole thing! It’s like Bill (the director) wanted to get his sex on and overlook the rest. Surely we could have gotten a few minutes off the whole dream wedding scene and add a deeper look into wolves’ world. They are too important and they just get small dialogs crammed together.

Another scene that left me very unsatisfied was the part where the wolves learn about Bella’s pregnancy; it was so rushed! One second Jacob told them and then the next there will be a war.

“WHAT? Pregnant? A vampire baby?

We’ll ALL DIEEEEE. WE NEED TO KILL THEM ALLLLLLL!!”

Jumping to conclusions so fast. I know this is pretty much goes down in the book, but they could have done some more explaining of how vampire babies are a threat. Some wolf CGI was really well done, perfectly convincing, in contrast to other parts where you could almost see the damn pixels! The voice-over symbolizing the wolves mind dialogue was ok, but I left confused and uncomfortable with the rippling effect it had. It sounded as if they were on drugs or something.

I’m just going to go really fast through the pregnancy. It all happens like in the book. It’s well done. Scary and sad. Incredible and shocking make-up from the special effects department. Congrats!! See? It was fast. We get to see some of the tense interaction at the Cullen house hold and I was glad to see that the set where they recorded the movie kept the house details consistent (like the graduation caps artwork) and thanks to Stephenie Meyer direction (as a producer), we finally got Alice's and Jasper looks spot on! I love the way these two look!

The birth scene as gruesome as it was, managed to carry the impact from the novel to the screen, although I was expecting her to “throw up a fountain of blood”, but it’s fine it wasn’t included, it wasn’t too necessary. It was an extremely fine balance that could have gone really wrong, falling to either the TOO GROSS shade or TOO COVERED side. We had the teeth c-section and all! It was weird changing from spectator to Bella's point of view, but they stuck to the book and it was good. Different, yet close enough.

BUUUTTT Jacob DID see Renesmee… JACOB SAW RENESMEEE!!! That is something I will not tolerateeeeee!! This is where I’m totally going to go all “hardcore fan” on the movie. Jacob imprints when he first sets eyes on her. So he couldn’t have seen her, hated her, and tried to kill her, only to see her again and imprint. RAGE!!! NO! Jake goes outside and cries. I never imagined Jacob, the great chief bending over and crying like that, but kudos to TayTay for handling that scene with great professionalism and character depth!

Now, the actual imprint. Rosalie holds the baby and the baby has a CGI face. It was weird. SO WEIRD. I think at this point they should have just left the face alone. I'm sure they went through a long process to make a baby that would look "different", but she's too small to be recognizable I think.

HIDE TEH SCARY BABY

A vision of baby-child-adult Renesmee comes to his mind. This was kind of how I imagined imprint, just a series of images flashing and some kind of airy space. It's such a difficult thing to visually explain, nevertheless I believe Condon nailed it! I love that we get a glimpse of Makenzie Foy. That’s the only reason why they included that “future” montage: So we don’t have to wait a year to see her. A freebie for fans.

Finally, Jacob Imprints and falls to his knees.

LOVE.

Moving on. The Vampires and wolves have a mini war outside which did not happen in the book. Thank you Bill!! Quite enjoyable and highly convincing, I was actually worried about how this was going to end! Alice on the floor about to lose her head, wolves attacking here and there, Edward in trouble, Esme getting knocked down, OMMMGGGGG! YESSS!!! Excitement all around! Jacob rising as a true Alpha and Edward declaring he has imprinted. Agh! I think this was pretty much an EPIC sequence.

Finally, Bella becoming a vampire. There is a gorgeous, GORGEOUS montage of Edward and Bella's time together. I think we all felt a bit tingly and goosebump-y to experience their voyage and significant moments in their history. So pretty. Her transformation was a long sequence, but this time I agree with its pace. This is Bella we’re talking about. We needed to see all the details of her transformation. Very elegant, cool and inspiring. AAAANd, of course vampires have perfect make-up when they are first transformed. SHUT UP!! xDDD! It was simply amazing.

I stuck around the theatre to see the last Volturi extra during the end credits, but wasn’t terribly excited for that one.

This is definitely not my favorite movie because I hate this part of the story. It made me extremely mad that some unimportant scenes were so long and the key points were rushed through. We could do without the dream wedding and we could do with more Seth/Leah/Jacob interaction. However, I feel that overall, it was well accomplished and in good taste. Music was handled much better this time around, or at least I didn't feel like the songs were violently chopped off or used as silence fillers. I kind of wished they had used "Cold" by Aqualung and Lucy Schwartz when she was dying. The song has an eerie, lamenting tone, and -hello- she was cold. hehe! Also, I was glad Bill brought Carter Burwell back! His themes always felt a bit more "tribal", giving the movies a wild, dangerous feel. He brought back the main Twilight musical theme and was placed during the montage. It was brilliant! I was crying and smiling my way through it.

So, in 2012 comes the one I REALLY want to watch. Bring on Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 already!!! I can't wait to see this epic trio... and Jacob too!

Edit: I have watched BD pt. 1 for a second time. I was critical and analytical as I experienced it the first time, annoyed because I wasn't looking forward to see it at all, however, for this second viewing, I just sat down, turned off my inner critic and stopped looking at the technical issues of it. It was a better experience, TEN FOLD. I think I hate it a little less now. :p

Twilight: Pre-Breaking Dawn feelings.

Only 8 days to go for Breaking Dawn. I'm ready to watch it, but I know I'll be cringing my way through it. Nothing I have watched from the previews and clips has excited me enough. I just really hate this movie, haven't watched it yet, but I can feel it. The fandom, of course, is as giddy as usual, specially for all the sex scenes, which to me are the least important piece to this movie. As you might know, I "ship" Jacob x Nessie and I hate for him to be seen as a "pedofile". That's not what their relationship is about. In fact, when I read that part, it was sort of a relief for me. I knew that from then on, Renesmee would be a would always be protected and loved; Jacob finally had a some special, and I don't mean romantically, I always saw it as what a dog feels for its master/owner: complete and absolute devotion.

Apparently very few fans see it like that. I've been reading "Twilight Confessions" for a few months now and there is a lot of JxR hate. This movie better get the record straight. I'm specially worried because they hardly even mentioned imprinting in the last three films. So, what's REALLY important to me in the first Braking Dawn is that the whole imprinting issue gets resolved, CLEARLY this time. I love these two so much and will not be happy if they don't get their chance to get the wrong idea off viewers' minds.

Besides how unexcited I am about BD, there is also the less-shirtlessness issue. Taylor himself campaigned around the movie set to allow Jacob to have his shirt ON for most of the movie. Only a glimpse of his naked torso at the beginning will we see this time. Alright, fine. I get it. There are some scenes where he doesn't NEED to be shirtless, the nakedness can get in your face after a while too, so I understand why they allowed for less skin. No problem. But sadly this movie IS a bit heavier on the wolf side. A lot of shifting goes on and them having their clothes on is kind of contradictory. BUT OKAY. WHATEVER. We'll all smile and nod along with it. The problem is that they went from "shirtless in ripped jeans" to this trash:

WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE?! It's like the wardrobe department isn't even trying anymore! Those do not look like ripped shorts to me, they look like lazy attempts to make regular pants shorter by folding them. *sigh* No, no, no.... and what is this? They're wearing not only shirts but SWEATSHIRTS?!.... ugh, no I can't, I just can't. I'll deal with this the best way I can: Cringing and moving on.

Another thing I'm utterly pissed off about, it the untimely delivery of the soundtrack. Last three were released about a month before the movie came out. This gave us plenty of time to get it, listen to it over and over, pick a favorite and live through it until it became embedded in our brain (that was MY process anyway). This year, it was only given 15 days, and it's been really bad because for me as I don't have much money to spend right now. We're only a week away and I haven't been able to buy it!! If only they'd given it more time. AARRGGHH!!!

Moving on. There was a special fan event going on the last couple of weeks called Twilight Tuesdays. They are re-screening all three Twilight Movies on the three Tuesdays before BDP1 comes out. Extra scenes and never-before-seen footage was shown before the movie. I decided to attend only the Twilight movie event. Out of three, as awkward as some moments were, I still believe the first movie was very beautiful, It's going back to being my favorite again. It's so sweet and indie. And real. Mostly real. All the scenes were filmed in actual locations and it doesn't feel like a fake Hollywood set. I'm starting to appreciate Hardwicke's style even more now. I attended the event (wearing my sparkleh Converse that went completely unnoticed. ;_;). I heard there would be a scene of Edward playing "Bella's Lullaby" on the piano. They did falsely advertise this as Rob was actually playing a random melody and not the lullaby, but it was still nice to see. It was enjoyable to re-watch it the movie that started it all.

As for merch. Well. No. just. No. I am not convinced. Thank gawd for that too. (No money!) . The only thing I would want, IF ANYTHING, are a couple of wedding dolls, but Tonner Doll's Twilight license is about to expire (I know for sure, I asked them) so it's pretty unlikely they will produce them. Maybe Mattel or Neca will, but I'm not pinning my hopes on any of those either. All I have seen are the usual products Hot Topic carries. Jack Morrissey (I've talked about him before) tweeted a few pics of the merch. Again, NO, just no.

Ask me!!! How about Wedding cake toppers!? How about "Newly Weds"shirts?! How about a shirt with feathers? Or a Mrs. Cullen one? Sparkly Condoms? I don't know. I give up. Speaking of merch: I recently found a toy version of Bella's Eclipse bracelet! It's kind of kitschy and cheap looking, but the way I see it, it's a "chibi" version of the original. It was funny looking, official and sparkly. So yeah, I bought it. .

Anyway. I do hope I get pleasantly surprised by this movie. Here are two pictures where Edward and Bella both look pretty adorable. Of course they do! They're on their honeymoon after all <3

Finally, I've been followed on Twitter by classmates and other friends who I know HATE Twilight. I don't want to be seen a the Twilight girl because I'm so much more than that. I've previously acknowledged the fact that Twilight is not the greatest thing ever and I'm not one of those fans who would die in my denial, but I do feel severely judged to love it openly. As soon as I mention it, come the pitiful looks, the eye rolling and the condescending "Oh"s. I really wish it weren't compared to other fandoms (specifically Harry Potter or Hunger Games), and wish it would be respected, just as any superhero or transforming-car movies are respected as well. I wish I were able to be happy with it and people would just let the movies be. *sigh*

Alright, one thing is official: I need to stop being so easily influenceable. Lately, I've been struggling with myself and my way of life. I think one way but act another. For example, I try to limit my spending because: a) I haven't really EARNED my money (my earned money was spent a long time ago), and b) If I am to move into a TinyHome (I'll talk about that later), I should be getting rid of stuff, not acquiring more, alas, I keep buying stuff... NOT THAT THAT MAKES ME MAD THOUGH XD!

I believe that hanging around my online Sailor Moon friends is pushing me more towards collecting. Seeing their new cute purchases makes me want to get figures and stuff I've been wanting too. Plus there is a new revival of Pretty Guardian and we're all so happy for these new things coming out. Most of my friends are also interested in Disney toys, particularly Disney Princesses. While I've never held any notable fascination with the 10 royal girls (even though I watched the hell outta those movies when I was a kid) I can always appreciate well designed, pretty dolls. I was constantly reading my friends' tweets during their entire Disney "Designer Doll" frenzy, which was a huge deal for them. The lengths they went to in order to buy the set is incredible and I always admire others' passion for collectibles.

As of now, I have no plan to begin collecting Disney Princesses dolls. I focus on other types of collectibles, but there is also the detail of completion. I like to think that there will be a moment I'll reach where all my sets will be "complete". I kind of hate the idea that there will always be something Disney- related that I will not own. Plus there is only one Princess in my heart and that will forever be Serenity from Sailor Moon :3

To the point: Out of all the Disney Princesses, I do like Belle, Aurora and Snow White, but Rapunzel has quickly become my favorite, probably because she has that "magical" element to her (the healing and the glowing hair, not just a Disney's loose use of the magical term), plus she paints. Pure win! For some reason though, dolls do not look like their on-screen counterparts, and that's just like a general rule in the toy industry (unless we're talking about Hot Toys) so there was no real excitement on my part to get them. That is, until I laid eyes on the Disney Animators' Collection.

These dolls are just, playing a completely different game now! A new league of their own, so to speak. Sure, there have been "baby princesses" dolls before, but these were specifically designed by Mark Henn and Glenn Keane, who have worked on some of the original character designs. It's like they've been chibi-fied, not just baby-fied. The difference is that babies generally look, well, like babies. But Chibi dolls tend to keep their facial features and expressions that make them unique. That's my personal opinion anyway.

This image on the left (source) has some of the sketches they drew to create this line of dolls. According to a video on the Disney Store Website, they mention that this is the first time doll makers and animators have worked together to create toys, which is weird; you'd think that's what they've been doing all these years, but apparently, once a job is pushed out of the animation studios, it's never again touched by them. It's weird because there are so many products that are created after each movie, that depend directly on those designs. On the other hand, this explains SO MUCH. Now I know why toys look so different from the cartoon version. Mystery solved.

Anyway. What they came up with is so, so cute! Chibi dolls, with their adorable mascots in a plushie form. Agh! Look at those eyes! Adorable! I was pleasantly surprised with the price too. The designer dolls were going for about $60 ea., I was expecting these to go high as well, specially because they're pretty large (around 16 inches), and the average doll goes for about 30. $24 is a reasonable price I believe. The entire set looks best when complete, I just can't stop staring at the colorful picture with all of the cutie pies together!

There was an intense battle I had with myself whether to buy them all, or at least one. Sure, the whole line would've been incredible, but I'm just not into them so much. It came down to my three favorites:

And well, Rapunzel won. Long hair, adorable face and bare feet did it for me. Yay! So, I finally broke down and ordered just one and I'm pretty happy with my choice. Apparently she is the most popular one too! It was the first one to sell out! (she was recently re-shelved.) They've been selling like crazy! I guess I'm not the only one who melts at the sight of adorable dolls. <3

For some reason I keep coming back to her videos. I like the way she describes them and points out all the details. She's my current Moonie crush! (shhh! :p)

Oh hey! Did I tell you I have a Tokidoki obsession? No? Well...

I do. It's been years and years and years. Sadly, Tokidoki is a high-end brand, I can't afford to buy much from Simone even though he produces great clothing, bags and toys. My very first item was a spiky watch; it was black, pink and absolutely adorable. I wore it proudly until the battery died like a year ago (I should replace it... I do miss that watch).

My second item was an original purse. It was so weird to find it. I was in Japan at the time. One day after school, I was so hungry I went to one of those underground shopping malls. They normally have noodle and curry shops in the food court, and smell was excruciatingly good. Nothing was going to come between me and that soon-to-be empty plate... noting but a fucking Tokidoki purse staring right at my face.

Fuck! Dx

A normal person would would just say: "I'll get something to eat and come back later." Did I do that? DID I DO THAT? Of course not. That fucking shop lady held me there, showing me model after model of the amazing bags. At the time I hated purses. I HATED them. They were too "grown woman" for me, I preferred to carry my stuff in haversack bags. Ugly ones. They were practical and comfortable, BUT THEY WERE NOT A FUCKING TOKIDOKI PURSE STARING RIGHT AT MAH FACE!!

Sold.

So then, a couple of years later, I start getting frustrated that my headphones broke constantly. Every week, I was buying cheap replacements for work, but the sound quality was terrible and the cord snapped easily from the ear piece. Nothing pisses me off more than a single earphone. #RAGE!! It has to be BOTH ears or nothing... and not hearing anything was pretty boring. Better quality headphones were in order and thus began my headphone addiction.

Alright I'm not going to sit here and tell every detail of other things I've gotten, but I do want to point out I have cheated. Yes, I have cheated!! As TKDK is pretty expensive designer label, we all know there will always be cheap imitations. Ebay is FULL of copies and they're getting better each time, going as far as to imitate some of the costly golden labels. Of course, they make good money off of them. Damn them! I would never buy a bootleg. I like the brand enough to differentiate a good copy from an original one that has way superior quality and style. I would never fall for a cheap bag.... UNLESS I had gone to China in 2009 and super cheap copies were available everywhere and were too good to pass upon the offer D:!!

That's right. I knowingly bought an imitation bag and backpack. BUT IN MY DEFENSE, I NEEDED a bag at that precise moment! My backpack had torn at the shoulder and was impossible to walk around and travel like that. Plus, it was the cutest one there, very hard not to buy :(

So, here is some of my stuff I have today.

Now, I'm not a huge Barbie fan, but it seems she has become part of my collections as part of both my Twilight set and my Wizard of Oz toys. I even enjoy looking at Barbie collections around the web because she was a strong part of my childhood and I can appreciate others' love for her. When Simone announced on Twitter that there would be a TKDK x Barbie collab, I nearly peed myself.

Here's the deal: Barbie will hardly ever break her mold. Really! Look at any franchise themed Barbie doll; they all have the exact same face and standard hair colors. It's like McDonald's, that tastes the same no matter what part of the planet you're on. Bella's face from the Twilight dolls looks nothing like Kristen, nor does the Edward doll look like Rob. The 75th Anniversary Wizard of Oz dolls don't look anything like the actors from the movie, they look like regular ol' Barbies. So this one is... just... AMAZING!! Granted, her face does look the same as any doll, but those lips!! Look at those lips! The way they part, all plump, shinny and pink are EXACTLY the way Simone draws them!

Also: Barbie with tattoos!?! Only once has the company released a tattooed doll (I believe it was the "Surfs' up" series) but they were "blah". These tattoos are placed in a Tokidoki-esque arrangement, covering her chest, back and arms. Finally, a Barbie with pink hair!? I've only seen custom made dolls with pink hair! Agghh so cool!! She's so chic!! Those sunglasses, those tights, her TKDK purse!

Yep. This doll is all kinds of amazing! Tokidoki stuff sells out pretty quickly so I'm happy I got mine right away. Which I shouldn't have in the first place. I'm broke. Why am I spending my textbook money on this stuff?! Is it worth it? Maybe. Am I happy? YOU BETCHA.

It's a looong story but I'll make it short:

I'm an adult woman filling voids in my life. Specifically the whole "single" thing. So me collecting toys and dolls is nothing but a way to hang on to happier times like my childhood. Whatever bullshit reason, I can appreciate figures for their esthetic value and since I have grown obsessed with TV shows about vintage items such as PAWN STARS and AMERICAN PICKERS that show the true value of antiques and well preserved historical items, I like to think I'm collecting a piece of animated history. Plus, I've surrounded myself with many other collectors, mostly Sailor Moon collectors, but also Twilight, Harry Potter, Transformers and Star Wars. I can see that toy collecting is a huge thing for people my age, where their old toys were thrown out by their parents and they are trying to get them back.

Of course if you ask my mom and brother, I must seem pathetic in their eyes, but I'M DONE trying to please them. I can't no matter how hard I try. My dad is kind of supportive, but mostly because we both have hoarding tendencies thanks to grandma's genes (huge hoarder).

AAANYway, this isn't couch time or anything. This is about MY fandom.

Mom clearly remembers my obsession with Rainbow Brite when I was a child. In May, I visited her in Mexico and heard there was going to an anime and comic exhibition there. We have never attended one of these before together, so I invited her so she could get a taste of my world. Little did we know she was going to enjoy it so much!! She went wild with shopping! Granted, she's a people-pleaser, most of her acquisitions were for somebody else: Aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

However, the minute we stepped foot on that floor, she said: "If I find a Rainbow Brite item, I'm totally buying it for you." I didn't really collect any RB items, my collections are very specific, mostly movie and oriented, but I had been looking at the new artwork and toys that have come out recently, and also I watched many of the old episodes for a research I was doing, and generally just getting into the vibe again, so I did have the desire to have one of my old RB dolls back. I said okay.

I thought she meant that if she came across a RB doll she'd buy it, but no, she was actually hunting it down, going from booth to booth asking if they had Rainbow dolls. At first it was awkward because she was asking stores that carried Star-Wars type things, but she got a hold of it and asked the right people until somebody actually told us where to buy one! I couldn't believe she had taken it so seriously! We went on to buy other things, I got a piece for my Coraline collection and a Wonder Woman one. Don't have a large WW collection but I like a couple of figures.

The moment we got the Rainbow Brite doll, she was satisfied, but she inadvertently switched a button on in my mind. Now I had to have a RB collection! D: It's as if I had finally had an approval from her! —we all seek approval, leave me alone— so I looked into it a bit more.

Rainbow Brite recently had a reboot, with character re-designs and new dolls, which to me are a huge huge fail. I'll just quote Feministe (whole article HERE):

"What they’ve done here is changed a round-faced, pug-nosed little girl with baby fat — the kind of role model girls have less and less these days — into a svelte and fashionable young woman who appears to be wearing makeup. It wasn’t enough for Rainbow Brite to be in charge of all the colors in the entire universe, in spite of being only somewhere between the ages of 6 and 10. Apparently she can only be considered marketable if she is older, acceptably thin, image-conscious, and conventionally pretty. As we know, for women professional success, while still a requirement for any sort of personal worth, is absolutely nothing unless you look hot while having it. (...) I’m tired of the fact that girls specifically aren’t allowed to look like kids. I’m tired of the idea that it’s not enough for female heroes to just be badasses, but they also have to be all primped up and mindful of their weight."

This new slutty girl is NOT the one that made me excited about colors, magic and rainbows, it's just a standard "Bratz" doll. So I'm going to focus on 80's style dolls. So far I have gotten 4 items. A RB fleece blanket, and these two plushies:

One day scrolling through eBay, I came across a doll I had never-ever seen before: A Moonglo doll. At first, I thought it might be a fan made doll, but it wasn't. It was simply a very rare doll. The thing was HOW RARE is it? Most Ebayers will say their items are RARE just to make it seem like the buyer is getting a good deal for a hard to find toy that most of the time is not so hard to find. I looked into this particular character more:

Apparently, she only came out in a handful of episodes and I can't even remember her at all. But she had blue, pink and moons. It simply cannot get any more Cycynesque than that, she had to be mine. But then I learned the Moonglo doll is the rarest of them all because she was not mass produced in the US, she had a very limited run in Germany right before the series was cancelled. Finding one is a very rare gem indeed. I won't mention the price, but definitely worth it. I finally have her and I can't describe how she makes me feel. Not excited but peaceful. It's so weird but I LOVE it.

Ultimate goal: No, I'm not going to get every single doll out there. Just a few more pieces. I do want a lunch box, a snow globe and the Hallmark ornament though. I need to get back my Starlite horse too. And when I saw this pic, I decided I need this trio as well. YAY! :D

Twilight: Morrissey. Not the one you're thinking about.

This is a really quick and vain blog post, but I'm feeling happy so I'm gonna upload this!

Jack Morrissey is, according to his Twitter profile a "Logistics expert. Battlestar archivist. Fluffy's keeper. Condon's partner. Pigpen's parent. A great friend to a few, and a bad friend to many". Well, that's all good, but he did say he was Condon's partner. Bill Condon that is. Bill Condon as in DIRECTOR of Twilight Saga: Braking Dawn movies.

I'm not sure if he's a work partner or life partner, but either way, he gets to work directly with Bill on the Breaking Dawn movies and gets a bunch of merch and news before any official release, so following him is quite amazing for behind the scenes stuff, not to mention he loves to interact with the fans! He's always tweeting back and forth with fan sites and other Twilighters such as myself. Really. We've talked and he's all kinds of amazing!

Well, maybe because I've been following the Twilight Saga so much that I'm quite familiar with the movies and soundtracks and these three names are a huge deal to me, specially since their creations give shape and feeling to what I'm actually watching on the screen.

My fave however is definitely Carter Burwell. His score is so "tribal", it gives me the feeling of these vampires being wilder that what we actually see. There is a very specific scene in the first Twilight movie, right where Bella figures out what Edward is, she spots him in the school parking lot and walks up to him just *knowing* what she's dealing with. The music in the BG is all drums and percussion. It's like DANGER is lurking. And it is. Cool!! I'm pretty happy he's back from the first movie to complete the cycle. Also, I like the fact that we will get Bella's Lullaby back. Maybe that's why I'm so happy about those tweets.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn trailer.

Here we go!!! Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn!

We finally got a real trailer and I can offer some thoughts on it. I'm going to keep it real short because I don't want to over-watch it looking for little details. I've learned my lesson on over-watching trailers.

Let me just say that this: As of right now, this is the movie I'm least excited about. Not only am I not excited about it, but I've been throwing it a hate-eye since I learned the last book was to be split into two movies. The first half of the book is SO TERRIBLY SLOW, I was even wondering while I read it if I had accidentally purchased a work of bad fan-fiction. But I didn't. I was very real and very awkward. I'm just talking about the first half though. I felt like it was a little girl who had married off Barbie and Ken and she was just making up stuff. ''And then, and then, and then, and then, and then" is exactly how this part felt. Having a movie based on all this strange writing made me cringe and hurt.

When I saw the first teaser, I was kind of relieved. Kind of.

Now that I've seen the official trailer I can say I feel a little better. Still not excited about it, but I had some weight lift from my shoulders. It shows us the wedding scene, the Jacob-Bella dance, the flight to Rio, the honeymoon, the sex, the first signs of pregnancy, the worry, Jacob's alliance, the wolf pack separation, some fights, Bella's weakness, Alice saying she can''t see Bella's future, angry Edward and some hints of the actual birth. Ahh! That was a nice complete movie........ wait......... that WASN'T the whole movie!? Because I saw every scene from the book on that trailer. Except Quil and Claire. Seriously though, I hate the kind of trailers that just by watching it, you know what the movie is about. For the first time in my Twilight fandom, I feel like I could just skip this movie and wait 'til the finale next year. Of course I won't do that, I need my Taycob dose, but I do know I won't be watching any more movie stills or the EPIC FINAL FINAL FIIIIINAL TRAILER thing they do for these movies.

The visuals look pretty good, the movie is riiiight there with Eclipse, blending in the blue-ish tone from the first Twilight movie and the constrasty yellow-ish New Moon movie. I very much enjoy the color palette and softness. I don't like the way Bella looks, I don't like the way Edward looks, I don't like Carlisle, I don't like Jacob, I don't like Rosalie. Alice I love, Emmett is the same and Jasper is meh.

What I do love are some of the additional scenes. Emmett stopping Jacob from hurting Edward made me so happy. Leah and Seth ALWAYS make me excited and there seems to be a hint of a fight in there. If they're going to offer us some violence though, I hope it's a complete serving and not what they did in New Moon where fights where too short and insipid.

Oh, and that little Alice twirls to avoid wolf attack was lame. Plus it was done in Eclipse first. So was the jumping over rivers.

So, yeah. I really hope this trailer is dull compared to the actual movie. I have lots of faith in you Mr. Condon, but just for shits and giggles, this is how a GOOD movie trailer is done #justsayin':

POTC: On Stranger Tides 'n stuff.

I know I haven't been very vocal about my Pirates of the Caribbean fandom, but believe me, there is mad, latent love for the Sparrow in these twisted brains of mine! He will forever be one of Johnny Depp's most memorable characters in one of the most unique franchises. Unlike the over-used medieval war themed movies, or special effects bombarded superhero ones, pirates' themes are rarely focused on. I very much enjoy both the historical references as well as the myth and legends that appear in these movies. Granted, they DO have explosion and action of sorts, but it's not everyday we get to see the Kraken devour an entire ship and see it brought back from the Locker almost intact.

From what I've read here and there, there is a general consensus that Curse of the Black Pearl is the most successful story of all movies, because it introduced the characters, set up the world, the tone and took the story from beginning to conclusion in an easy to follow, single strand. It was so well done, that even 8 years later, people still seem to think none of the sequels live up to it's predecessor.

I never dragged my ass to see the first one in theaters because, well, it was based off a ride. Really? A ride? REEEAAAALLLYY??? A ride which, btw, most didn't even remember much to begin with. I went to DW when I was 10 or 11 and we took one of those "staged" photo montages wearing the so-overused-they're-torn costumes and the fake-looking plastic props. Believe me, it made perfect sense at the time. You got on a ride, you take a picture. Back then (early 90s) Disneyland didn't seem TOO concerned to have their rides related back to their movies. There was no "Little Mermaid Under the Sea Adventure" or "Toy Story Arcade" rides. It was just a collection of randomly themed rides, like "It's a Small World", "Jungle World" and "Splash Mountain", the only thing tying them together was the persistent three-sphere logo in every corner. Can you judge me for forgetting that unimportant, lame-ass boat ride? I watched the movie a few years later because my brother bought the DVD and I had nothing better to do at the time. Needless to say, obsessed became my new middle name.

The first one was a full circle, much like the first Matrix movie. It was one complete, standalone, balanced concept. Many "piratey"notions, like bad luck for having a women on a ship, walking the plank, marooning, attacking/plundering villages, treasure hunting and haunted ships were an interesting concept. The last successful movie to address these subjects was The Goonies. Of course the fact that all the ghost stories were "true" put a whole new twist to these movies!

The second one is my favorite. It is even more myth populated, full of action and very, very funny. Showing us the curse of the Flying Dutchman and the scary Kraken attack made chills run up my spine. But they did a bunch of things I'm not entirely sure were necessary. The re-introduction of characters and presentation of many other's was quite saturating.

Bootstrap Bill coming in the picture kind of made sense, after all, he did have a share of the Black Pearl curse that made him immortal, even when they tried to kill him by tying him to the canon. After breaking the curse, he should've died, but he had already been Shanghai-ed by the Flying Dutchman, so yeah, that worked. But having Norrington, Barbossa and the two love-birds come back besides including heavyweight characters such as Tia Dalma, Davy Jones, and Cutler Beckett, threw the balance out the window and placed too much responsibility on the third installment to bring all the loose-ends to a fully conclusive circle.

This is what I felt when I watched the third installment:

"Take that you over-expectant beyotch!"

You'd think that with all the slew of charas introduced in Dead Man's Chest, they'd have enough to work with in At World's End, but they prove that an overspilled glass can still be filled with yet another wave of unnecessary extras introduced, like Sao Feng, Calypso (She is different from Tia Dalma as we never had mention of the Sea Goddess before and she's quite opposite from the small swamp witch) and the pirate lords. DEAR LORD! ALL THE PIRATE LORDS! As far as I was concerned, pirates were basically just thieves in search for treasures, and now we have a court with Pirate Kings?! C'mon!

Bringing back Sparrow from the Locker was necessary, yes, but this army of pirates and tangled construction of Will's twisted plan to save his father, Beckett trying to rule the seas, Davy Jones coming to terms with his girl, and the rest all had their own objectives in mind. Can we say plotty? PLOTTY!

Even this "Asianization" of Elizabeth (pictured here, asianization of Sparrow which didn't actually happen in the movie) was lame. In a move to make Elizabeth more important, they get Sao Feng to believe she is Calypso in her human form, so he brings her aboard his ship and eventually gets killed and hands down his artifact that should be used to free her Goddess form. I'm confused. Wasn't Sao Feng THERE when they bound Calypso in the first place? How could he not know what she looked like in her human? Apparently everyone else was clear on who Tia Dalma was. And more importantly, why make Elizabeth more important? She already had enough camera time as it was.

Anyway, the hot mess did sort of tied up loose ends. We did see the end of the Kraken, Davy Jones, Beckett, and the pieces moved around to make Will the new Locker master. They also made way for the fourth installment by letting us know about the Fountain of Youth. We have our premise!

I once dreamed with the Captain. Yes. I had a dream about Capt'n Jack Sparrow, not Johnny Depp. All I remember is that I got a look at his past. In Curse of the Black Pearl they mention his weird acting was because he went mad with the heat when he was marooned on an island. Well, kind of. Anyway, I had a dream that explained how he went "crazy". It was because he was in love. He had been in love with a pirate girl and she betrayed him to her own benefit and pushed him off a building and hit his head. Everyone though he lost it because of the fall, but it was really just the notion of him losing his loved one. So Sparrow having a re encounter with a woman from his past in Stranger Tides not only made perfect sense to me, it made me excited to see this!

I was going to write up a review of the movie, but since I went into it with just a vague idea of what it's about, I have now forgotten much of the plot. So this review won't be that accurate. I'll just offer a general feel about the movie.

At first we see Sparrow in London. He's there to prevent his old friend Gibbs from walking into the gallows. It's all followed by a "high speed car chase through the streets of London". Too exaggerated and too long. But fine, whatever, we get some action.

Long story short, Jack's Dad ~~Keith Richards~~ Captain Teague, lets his son know how to get to the fountain of youth. Then Sparrow fights Sparrow, rather, he has an encounter with his past love. And hey! Whadoyaknow, she's a con-artist, pirate girl who had somehow betrayed Jack in the past. I know my dream here made me more excited that I should be. Now I forget how, but Jack comes into the service of the Queen Anne's Revenge under the command of BlackBeard. Being one of the most recognizable historical pirates, I was expecting BlackBeard to be scarier and more bad-ass, but it seemed that all his power came from the ship's power to make ropes come to life, which was cool, but something anyone in possession of BlackBeard's sword could do.

Barbossa was brought back as well. As I heard, it was Johnny Depp himself who insisted the never ending Barbossa-Sparrow feud should be revisited, and as it turns out, it was a good move. Other than looking for the fountain of youth, there wasn't much going on, so these two going at it again brought back some familiar territory we could stand on since most of the characters and crew are all new.

Again, long story short, they follow the map, go treasure hunting for Ponce de Leon's cups, a mermaid and ultimately find the Fountain of Youth in the ruins of a...temple... it was so weird. Pieces of Greco-Roman columns, with south American glyphs and Ponce de Leon's cups were needed to make the ritual work? I mean, how does that make sense? Other than myth, it's time-line and geo-location is completely off, just so... out of place. Anyway, the spell works out and Penelope Cruz gets eternal life or at least two life times, and then gets marooned by Sparrow on an Island! Note to self: YAY SPARROW for getting revenge on that bitch for throwing him off that building so many years ago!.....- !?!?!?-

I think overall the movie does pretty good on itself, and definitely a positive step toward possible sequels. As the critics have stated, I also believe there could've been more done with the zombies. They merely mention their existence and were basically just hands on deck. How about lunch time at the zombies'? Haaaa! Now, THAT would've been something. The mermaids were KICK ASS. Both beautiful and deadly. I'm just not sure the romance between the religious guy and the mermaid should've been so important. I found myself rolling my eyes and wanting their scenes to finish quickly. This coming from a girl who likes Twilight. I just... I felt there was no real love there. Dude was hot for a pretty girl, that's it. It's not like he liked her personality or they had lived through many things. It was more of a compassion thing, so having to watch those uncomfortable pseudo-romantic moment was *yawn* boring. Yeah, they could've gone into it, OR they could've developed Jack's love past. I say ditch the fake love story, stick to the Sparrow.

I'm a huge fan of these movies. I love them and will watch any sequels. It's pretty cool that Johnny Depp also loves this character so much too, he's mentioned that he's not yet ready to part with the pirate and he could see himself portraying Sparrow for many years to come. Yes! Please do!

This tonner doll Repainted by Spanish Artist Soraya. This Jacob Black face repaint is one of THE BEST TayTay look-alike dolls I've seen, and if you've seen my other Tonner Doll posts, you know I've seen a lot. He is just too... PRETTY!!!

Anyway, the face of this doll is very well rendered, but check out the rest of the photos to see the complete....errr... "concept" behind this Jacob. I'm not too sure I agree with it now.

TayTay + Rob. Moving away from Twilight.

That's right. Our hunky pair finished TODAY filming which are to be, the last two movies of the Twilight franchise (for now). This is not a Twilight post per se as they are both promoting other movies, Rob, Water for Elephants, and TayTay, Abduction. I want to watch both actually, I'm curious to see them in other characters, although I think TayTay's movie is leaning towards the action thriller type that I quite dislike. I'll give it a chance 'cause it's him.

Anyway, MTV interviewed him about Abduction, his first film as a leading man and they did, of course touch a bit on previous Twilight movies as well and Breaking Dawn. Videos should be on autoplay.

My GORGEOUS GORGEOUS TAY never stops smiling, and I love how graceful he is in these interviews. He is always respectful and reserved, he could be all douchey and stuck up, but he's never been like that, that's why I fell for him in the first place. There are 31 videos, all in all make up about half an hour. My favorite one is this, where he admits he's been called "TayTay" x3

And then, on the other hand we have Rob, who gave a short interview to the Chicago Sun Times about his departure from playing Edward. His comments, as usual, always put a smile on my face:

“It does feel like a breakup. I do love the guy — and I’m going to miss him,” Pattinson, 24, says during an interview with the Sun-Times on a cool Sunday afternoon from his hotel suite in Santa Monica, Calif. “I prefer to think of ending this franchise like leaving school. It’s the last day of high school.”

He mulls over the plusses of leaving behind his romantic alter ego.

“I’ll be very glad not to put those contacts in anymore or have to put on the sparkling makeup,” he says with a giggle.

The thing about Pattinson is, he likes to giggle. A lot. Then his voice softens.

“It’s been amazing to play the same character through so many adventures. And it’s so strange because my life has changed so much over these years, but ‘Twilight’ and Edward Cullen will always be a part of me. It’s been my whole life. My whole 20s,” he says. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Indeed he likes to giggle, I always found that sexy. He can never NOT tell a joke or just stay quiet, he's very light-hearted and likeable. Also, in spite of all the laughing, pointing, and bullying at him and the Edward character, he is truly thankful and proud of the work he did, and nothing is awesomererer than an actor truly appreciating an opportunity. Specially one as huge as filling Edward's shoes. (pun? no pun? xD!!)

I will miss them as Edward, Jacob and I will miss Kristen as Bella too, but I'm also glad they're moving on to other roles and movies.

Vampire Diaries: Tonner repaints by Noel Cruz.

Well, it's been many months since I last talked about The Vampire Diaries. I was a huge huge, huge fan of this series up to a certain point when things started to become confusing for me. I went home to Mexico for vacation and lost track of what was going on, and when I came back, they were showing re-runs in altered order, so I was completely confused as to what was going on. Also, something very important happened: CBS changed the Big Band Theory to the same day and time as The Vampire Diaries. I always favor "LOLZ" over "OMGS". I began watching the Big Bang Theory on Thursdays and changed the channel just to watch the last 20 minutes of VD. Plot was already confusing to me at this point, but then it seemed the show got stuck on some kind of repetitive formula. When ever I turned the channel, something like this began to develop:

-Elena being mad at someone for hiding something

-Katherine being a seductive bitch

-Bonnie being mysterious and producing some ritual

-Caroline being nice to people and they are mean to her

-Some new mysterious object/legend to be discovered

-Stephan defending Elena

-Damon getting stabbed/shot

-Everyone hooking up at the end

And this little formula got repeated over and over. At first I was shocked and worried, then eye-rollage just turned to the norm. I like Vampire Diaries, I want to be obsessed with it, I would be willing to watch the full episodes again if they would just stop trying to stretch it out by constantly adding and eliminating new random characters, too many plot twists (I don't mind plot twists, but if they twist and twist it around without making a point, it all becomes just pointless), and the repetitive stories. It's like I've already forgotten the point of all that's going on. Too many characters, to many sub-plots, too many things to remember but I don't know where they're going with all this. Is it leading to something pivotal or is it just the mess it appears to be? I kind of don't even care at this point. I want to care though. :(

Anyway. A few months ago I posted an image of the new Vampire Diaries Tonner dolls, specifically, the Damon doll, which I'm guessing is a fan favorite. The doll itself, with the factory paint is pretty decent, but one of my favorite repaint artists, Noel Cruz, is at it again with these new dolls. He's not using the official VD dolls, but the ones he chose are.... okay-ish.

Hmmm... Elena seems different, too "cheeky" but her eyes are spot on and Damon look high, sleepy or bored. Or all three. Plus those clothes are a huge NO-NO for Damon who is always dressed in black. But Stephan is full of "YES PLZ!!!!". He looks EXACTLY like Paul Wesley , and I think the guy is quite adorable (but Ian still is the best!)

Just wanted to post these dolls and talk a bit about VD. Now, I'm off to watch The Big Bang Theory. :D!!

As I've stated before, I'm very selective as to what Twilight items I want to own because I absolutely hate the black/brown and otherwise gloomy, dark theme of the merchandise from this series. C'mon!! It's the equivalent of a "shoujo" manga, it should be less depressive, I think.

Anyway, my dislike for these tones includes all toys and posters. Posters specially. I refuse to let my room darken because of the color choice on them. I do however, enjoy rare items, so when I stumbled upon this 3D lenticular poster, I chose to ignore the ugly coloring and focus on the rad concept, plus it was at a very good price, so I had to have it. And now my little shrine is all dark........ Dark, but way cool. xD!

As mentioned before, I have become obsessed with looking at other people's collections. I spend my days and nights looking at their toys, figures, dolls, mangas and books. Some have them gathered by series, by characters, by themes or even by colors. It's truly fascinating to see collectors display their items. SO OBSESSED. That being said, I am a fan of this room. It's NOT a huge collection or anything, I just.... LOVE this collection. I've seen so many rooms at this point that not just any one will make me happy. This one is clean, organized, colorful and cute. I want my future studio to look like this.

Twilight Saga: Oh hai, Edward!

If you know me, you know by now I'm all about TayTay, but I really really love Rob, he plays Edward flawlessly and has a great sense of humor! He's just SO FUNNY, I think that's what really attractive about him, that he's not a stuck-up pretty boy, and he could EASILY be that. Oh, and I also love it that Rob is TEAM EDWARD FTMFW!! I've been listening to the commentary on Eclipse BluRay NON-STOP just to laugh at his Team Edward comments.

This past weekend, Rob was invited to present at the Golden Globes. He has just been called to do some re-shoots for his other movie "Water for Elephants" a period film where his role requires a shorter do. So then he showed up looking like this:

Reddish hair! Short, nice and clean!! OMG!! THIS is how Edward is supposed to look like, none of this wet dog hair crap they came up with in Eclipse.

I'm sure they're going to have to do something about it when he returns to the Breaking Dawn set , but I hope he keeps this look. Okay I'm done nao.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse gum!?

Long story short: I go to the store and decide to buy chewing gum. There is a pack of Eclipse gum that has Twilight Eclipse imagery. It says "unlock secret footage". Alright sold.

I then learned that depending on the characters on the products will be footage you'll get to see. Had I known this, I would've chosen a TayTay one . Unfortunately I don't chew that much gum that I'll have to buy all 5 different boxes, so I'll probably miss out on the rest of the footage. But the one thing that was a wonderful surprise is the marvelous animation before each possible footage to unlock. As this offer will be good until March, it's most likely they will be taken down for good after that time.

So, I screencapped them.

They might look boring, but really, the animation is GORGEOUS. The pack opens up and like some sort of pop-up book, every element comes to life and takes up its own space. Butterflies floating, wind blowing, trees growing up, clouds passing by, snow dancing, etc. Lovely lovely animation. I think they're better than the official Eclipse website. It's actually a good piece of website design inspiration!

Vampire Diaries: Why, God, WHY!?

I just finished my blog entry where I described how I FINALLY got hold of two Twilight Saga Tonner dolls and now, they come out with The Vampire Diaries Ian/Damon doll. I am a SUCKER for this series, and they must be fully aware that the fans melt at the mere sight Ian Somerhalder's gorgeous looks. We love this boy SOOOOO MUCH!! And once again, they are hitting me right in my Achilles' heel:

Twilight Saga: I love my STUFF!

Alright, last post I declared that I was *not* fond of Twilight merch. I'm really against the idea that since it is a vampire themed series, things should be dark and mysterious, but Twilight is refreshingly pink, fresh and sparkly, I hate the idea of having to own black and brown things.

I do have some stuff that is unavoidably dark, like the movies, a couple of posters and random items here and there, but I have been very selective as to what items I want to own and display in my little shrine. Even though the collections in the videos below are mind-blowing, in comparison, my collection is much-much smaller, yet I am so in love with it, I don't feel upstaged at all. Not. one. bit.

First, I have to show off my most awesome piece. I don't think anyone (that I know of) owns a piece like this, specially since it's a studio released article. Somehow the auction went under the radar, really really under. I was so sure it would go beyond a thousand dollars, but it didn't even come close. I was very lucky.

It is one of the crimson red hoods worn by one of the extras in New Moon during the St. Marcus Festival. This is the description from Ebay:

Here's your chance to own a one-of-a-kind red cloak worn in the Twilight: New Moon movie and signed by nine of the movie's leading actors.

The 5-foot, wool cloak has been autographed by Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli, Michael Welch, Chaske Spencer and Alex Meraz. It was worn during the shooting of the San Marco's day Festival in Volterra, Italy.

The cloak comes with an authentication letter from Summit Entertainment -- providing absolute assurance of authenticity. Summit Entertainment donated the cloak, and proceeds from the auction will benefit the thousands of athletes of Special Olympics Southern California.

It was actually purty exciting to pull out the cloak from the box, like the feeling of "this item was in the effin' movie!", although their so called "certificate" is quite sad, just a piece of regular printer paper. I was seriously expecting something....err....shinier. AAAaaanyway, it's MY piece of regular printer paper.

Up next are my two favorite items. Tonner dolls. NO NO, not just regular Tonner dolls, no, the regular straight-out-of-factory kind. I was kind of disappointed in the quality of the paint job on these dolls, considering how expensive they actually are, they look like regular Barbie dolls when they're absolutely NOT.

So, I became interested in custom re-paints. They are actually hard to come by, really good ones I mean. Although I the work of Noeling is quite impressive, there's no way I can pay $5000 dollars for one of his creations. eBay became my friend. I was truly passionate about getting them, and again, I got very lucky by scoring TWO awesome repaints by the same artist, Sashableu51.

I made a few changes to them: Edward got a sparkle coat over his face (barely noticeable), loosened up his tie and gave him a more relaxed stance. Jacob's pants *really* got to me, it's pretty clear in the books that he wore chopped off shorts (a.k.a. "jorts") and was shirtless. So, off the bottom part came. They now look like this:

Other pieces include the Jacob and Edward Barbie Dolls. No particular editions to these dolls, other than Jake's tattoo is the one with the printing mistake, it's upside down. I wasn't particularly looking for the one with the mistake though. People on eBay are reselling it for up to 80 dollars because it is "rare", but I think Mattel actually got a bunch of them out in stores before they actually caught the mistake, so I wouldn't actually call it rare, I'd call it "alternate edition" xD! I also got the Neca action figures. Again, nothing special about these two, just the fact that they were part of my want list.

Now, I used to have the standard issued books, but I made the terrible mistake of lending them to friends and family. I never got them back or they're in such terrible condition that I needed to get new copies, but black copies no longer did it for me, so of course, the white edition all the way from the UK were in order.

Now, there is something that really gets to me. I absolutely HATE the fact that they take a limited number of photographs and then proceed to slap every single item with the same pictures over and over and over. Slap the tees! Slap the posters! Slap the hoodies! Slap the pins! Slap the DVDs! Slap the cereal boxes! Slap the Burger King crowns! and since we "need new book editions", go ahead and slap them on the book covers too. This is why I don't consume any other products. I did however buy a couple of Japanese folders and brochures, that do include said repeated images.

Why?

Well, unlike the Americans, the Japanese designers fully embrace the "sparkle factor", which you do not see in ANY products here. Why don't they like the sparkle factor? Oh wait. Yes, Edward from the Barbie collection sparkles, but that's it. Here are the things I bought from Japan:

I think these are super adorable, embracing the colors, the lightness of the theme, the relationship chart and actual imagery of wolves, which are nowhere to be found on American products.

Last pieces are my BluRays (DVDs won't do anymore) are special edition. Not that that means anything, all formats seem to have the same contents.

Anyway, that's just a small update on my Twistuff. My collection is just about complete, all I need is a shirtless TayTay standee (I'm hoping we'll get one for Breaking Dawn), a wolf plushie (with tiny jorts tied to his leg), and some kind of Renesmee doll, whether Tonner comes out with one or I make my own version with a dollfie and I'll be DONE! :D!

Twilight Saga: Biggest Fan vids.

Besides de Random Fandom blog, I also run the SMObss blog, dedicated to all things Sailor Moon related. There is a section I run called "SM Room of Doom" and, just as the name suggests, I look for other fans' collections to see what they have and "measure" their level of obsessiveness. Of course there's no REAL way to measure it since more stuff does not equal more love, but you get my point.

Looking for Sailor Moon related rooms, I stumbled upon this collection of collections. A LOT on anime fans' collections and their rooms or studies. Some of these are quite incredible! After flipping through the first few, I became a woman POSSESSED. I went through EVERY SINGLE ONE of the collections and I fell in love with the whole concept of displaying, just the patterns, the visual aesthetic of figures or dolls and the way each otaku arranges them.

SO I went out searching for Twilight themed rooms. Weird, I didn't find as many as I had hoped. But thanks to Movifone's Biggest Twilight fan contest, we have some awesome videos. I'm not exactly fond of Twilight merch, I hate that everything is black and dark when the whole concept is so pink-ish and sparkly but whatever, I still love to see another human being's passion and happiness it brings them to collect and show off their stuff. LOVE!

Twilight Saga: Manga style Illustrations.

While the illustrations for the Japanese Versions of the Twilight books is nothing new, I find it pretty sad that no other blogs talk about the beauty of these images. They are ADORABLE and even in lines on paper we can completely see the characters with all their particular traits. I think I like some of these drawings more than what happened in the movies! XD

I wonder what would've happened if the Japanese would have had control over the merchandising and publicizing of this series. Certainly the toys , figures and statuettes would be INCREDIBLE, some mid-action figurines (imagine a still of the ballet studio fight) or maybe some adorable wolf plushies (with their pants tied to the leg), maybe a few ACTUALLY sparkling shirts, most likely TONZ of in-character photos (I fucking HATE that there's like ONE photo shoot and they merchandise the hell outta the same pics over and over) and have tonz of different posters, book covers, and other stuff. Man! They could've done SO MUCH. Attention Twilight Marketing staff: YOU SUCK. BAD.

Star Wars: A boy's dream

Oh my Edward! This will be the longest, boringest-est, pointless, spoiler-full movie review evah!! So, where do I start? The beginning I guess.. xD!

Okay.... rain dripping on a glass and the Summit logo appearing.... I dunno about the rest of the Twilighters, but that logo in it's various renderings makes me giddy and nervous, like seeing the waitress at a restaurant step out of the kitchen with your order when you are starving to death. Anticipation I guess, "Chop and Change" by the Black Keys as an opening. WHOAAA!!! I'm SO EXCITED ALREADY!!! I've been listening to the soundtrack for weeks, this song is in my top 3!!!! OME OME OME OME OME!! Here we go!!!!

Edward and Bella making out/talking in the meadow..... ummm.... yeah, okay, I get it, clarifying that she said NO to marriage n' stuff since we didn't get to see that in NM (Why didn't we btw? That was stupid, it would have been MORE of a cliffhanger had we heard a distant "NO"). Even though I was enjoying some of the kissing, this scene felt kind of long. And enter sparkly Edward. I've spoken before about my preference for "Twilight" sparkles since they do reflect the rainbow (might sound gay, but that's the way they are) and we get the light-emitting sparkles from New Moon. DO NOT LIKE, but I'll survive. Bella gets up and leaves... why was I staring at her ass?? HER ASS!!! *shiver*

Wait.. I'm barely starting and I'm already too specific...

Charlie and Bella talking. It's pretty sweet, I can feel Charlie's conflict with Edward and all that. Bella goes to her room and sees the letter from Jake... and as Michael Buckley from "What the Buck"'s review said: "Jacob writes like a girl!!" ... and yes, that letter is totes girl writing! Does my beloved TayTay really write like that?? If so I love him more, if it wasn't Tay, they should've chosen a dirtier handwriting, like what we see in the book. That's just one of the tiny details only a Twihard would focus on....yes, my life sucks, can we move on now?

OHhh and, we don't get to see much of Bella's room, but I love how they keep the details!! See the MonteCarlo poster and the Prom night photo?.... FROM TWILIGHT! The first one! Some pics of Edward and Alice, a Debussy flyer which is an Ed/Bella thing and of course, the now iconic wolf painting is still there. Even though this room and this set is a completely different one they keep it surprisingly consistent.

Moving on.

I can't remember EXACTLY what scene is next, but I'll jump to Renee and Bella in Jacksonville. I imagined this scene to be a bit funny, you know, mom and girl tanning at the beach, cut to Edward completely bored looking out the window... Lawl. XD! "The way he looks at you" line *standing ovation* YES! ... And then, the first WTF moment: What the eeeffffffffff was all that quilt stuff?! A bonding mother-daughter moment?? Unnecessary.

David: "And here you'll open a graduation

While they're at Renee's, the Cullen and Quileutes are hunting down Victoria. Some action! YAY! This is what we saw over and over in the previews and the behind the scenes, but much darker and I don't mean the tone of the movie I mean the hue. Why'd they make it so dark?... Oh right. Night-time. I loved it but I could hardly see anything! U.U...

Change scene and we get to see Jacob in all his panty-creaming hawtness... GOD he is so gorgeous! He's a GOD! TAYTAAAAAYYYY!!!! Look at that shirt!! I saw an interview with the costume designer who said she had made the sleeves tighter to make Jacob seem buffer... I say: This woman deserves the Oscar for best costume design just for that piece of fan-service. I love the way they played with the volume of "A Million miles an Hour" by Eastern Conference Champions when we see Jake.... B.A.D.A.S.S.!!! I think David is either Team Jacob or has a guy-crush on TayTay, it's sweet! I hope that doesn't offend him, that's just the impression I got after all this AWESOME Jacob scene (and the behind the scenes Tay snaps he stole).

David: "OMG soHawt!" *snap*

Some stuff with the pack, we see Leah, we don't get to see Seth yet, we get the imprinting explanation. I just got a little lost on HOW they began on that topic, they were slurring the words, I have no idea how but suddenly they were talking about Sam and Em...

Anyway, Riley in Bella's room. I was SO sure it was Edward at first until he lifted up his evil little finger. EVIL EVIL EVIL!!!! I was kind of disappointed that we didn't get the nose flare and "give me a minute" line as he suddenly dissapears. I LOVED that part in the book, his second-long quick investigation through the house looking for signs of the intruder. AWw... :( Cut scene, and we're at the Cullen house... Okay, gimme a moment here......*breathe in, breathe out*.... WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!

This pic is the house in Oregon they used for Twilight. I dunno if they used the same house or built a new one but it's definitely not the same one from New Moon, but they did this kind of BLENDING in of both houses, the feel and color palette from NM but the physical architecture of Twl... Dunno HOW the did it but it was an INCREDIBLE way of tying them together!! God, I'm loving this so much!! Cullen house FTW!!

Ok, so they talk about the newborns, Jake goes to Bella's, they start doing the exchange Bella thing, etc. WE FFFFFFFFFFFFInally get to see Seth, I think BooBoo Stewart is just the sweetest little thing and I've been waiting to "meet" him. This is a pic he posted on his twitter getting his hair styled as Seth Clearwater. Sadly we only get about 30 seconds of Seth. AWw BooBoo...

Quileute story time!! Am I the only one who thinks the extras hired for these flashback (both Twilight and Eclipse) are a lot more native looking than the actual wolves? THE EXTRAS for crying out loud!... All actors are adorable, we've been following for more than a year with all the conventions and stuff, but still, they don't look native. So, the story of the third wife and all... Glad they made it short and right to the point.

Okay so I'm going to just jump ahead a little bit, the whole scene in the bedroom and blah blah blah.. at this point I'm getting really distracted with al the close-ups, since I already analyzed all their pores, the wig line, the contacts, the side burns, the teeth, I start to look at the unfocused edges of the scene... I feel a wee bit claustrophobic and wanting some air.

So Bells and Jake take a walk and he tells her his in love, force kisses her and she punches him, bringing us to our second WTF moment. The sound effect. I know it's supposed to sound like someone punching a wall or something really hard, but it was a strange muffled sound with did not sound natural at all. Not that punching a werewolf is natural in the first place XD. But here comes m biggest issue in the movie: The confrontation.

I dunno about the rest of the Twilighters, but in this part of the book I was both excited, nervous and CRACKING UP!!!!! This scene was SO funny to me!! Like, Jake's totally relaxed when they arrive at Charlie's, the "Good for you kid!" line, Jake's nonchalant attitude when Eddie arrives, Edward's contained jealousy, “Is the dog still there?” line, “Why don’t you arrest me, Dad? I’m the one throwing punches!” ... HAHAHAHHAHAhahahahahahahaha!!!! AAAhhh, that was the funniest part of the book, and in the movie it was so... like... aggressive it felt awkward. I was just cracking up anyway but I did miss all those epic lines. Bummer XD!

Rosalie's flashback. It was short and to the point as well, it was cool that they left that final image of her in her wedding dress, but I heard they filmed a scene where she is floaing in the hallway... WHY!?!?!? WHY CUT THAT OUT?!?! I would've been creepy/exciting!!! Bummer again. Next, graduation partay. Srsly? THAT's where you put a MUSE a song?? FAIL!! Anyway, discussion about the newborns and they arrange a meeting to train in the woods.

The training scene is full of pure concentrated sparkling WIN!! Strangely, I liked it more because of the music. Of course the action got me excited, but the way the music added to it is hard to describe. "With you in my Head" by UNKLE is my second fave song and the way it's edited here is just sooo wonderful!! This is my feeling:

The pearls are the movie and the ribbon the music... the way they made the music come and go with the action, foreground, background, it disappears behind some scenes, comes back, sometimes the it's just the voice, sometimes a small pause... AAAGGHHH!!!!! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE IT!!! IT WAS JUST SUUCCCH an amazing experience!!! Hope the picture helps XDDD!!! (necklace can be found HERE BTW) I must however point out that the reason why the Volturi want Edward is his ability to read minds and therefore anticipate any move the opponent might make, so Carlisle grounding Edward isn't plausible move, plus, where's the vampire speed? I mean, I know it should be slowed down for the human spectator to see anything, Chris did a cool job of accelerating and slowing it down to convey the velocity in NM, I kind of missed that, but the entire scene itself did CRACK ME UP and surprised me! Jasper looked HAWT and, well, like a General, his whole stance and presence really reflected his state of mind. Bella's wig here is full of fail. Up to this point I was looking for flaws in the wig and pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as obvious as I thought it was going to be, just tiny scenes here and there, it mostly looked fine.

Wolves!!! We finally get a better look at the pack! Well, kinda sorta. I definitely needed to watch the following video a few times before watching the actual movie:

And of course the most beautiful part was wolf-Jake and Bella talking. It was so beautiful!! This might sound stupid but I cried! Yeah, 'cause I'm stupid like that. Such an intimate -and realistic- moment.

Okay. Jasper flashback was cool. Skim through stuff, skim through stuff, skim through stuff. And now I have a bone to pick with David Slade: he tweeted about TayTay carrying Kristen all day(he loves Jake/Taylor I tell you!!!)... Jake carrying Bella... TWICE and you couldn't play my fave song "Heavy in your Arms" by Florence & the Machine?! SRSLY!?!! OMGG that song was just SOOOOOO perfect, I know the paces of the video and the song are different but maybe a little slow mo of him running... I DUNNOOOOOO BUT HOW COULD YOU NOT USE IT!? HOOOOWWW COULD YOUUUU!?!? *imaginarily bangs on David's chest with closed fists* AAAAAaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!! *bawls* *softly sings to self* Who is the betrayer, who's the killer in the crowd? The one who creeps in corridors and doesn't make a sound...

AAAAAAaahhhhh!!!! NOOOOOEEEESSSSS Heartbrokeeeennnn!!!

Okay I'm done.

The talk!! HAHAHhahaha!! The talk was just so ...so... well, uncomfortable. XD
Now, bedroom scene. Well, first I need to point out the accuracy of Edward's bedroom... again.

Obviously there are some changes with the SIZE of the bedroom, but the bookshelves are there, the old record player next to the window, some of the LPs , and the white divan couch with the black throw... and of course, we have our yummehlicious golden duvet. THE GOLDEN DUVET!!!!!!!!!! I'm already giddy again!!! OMG YES!!! LEG HITCH!! OME the HOT HOT HOT KISSING!! OME OME OME OME!!! The proposal, which I totally agree with NOT actually seeing him on his knee, the way the camera points down on Ed and front to Bella spoke more than a thousand words. Ohhh and I almost forgot!! "My love" by Sia was just ABSOLUTELY perfect. Also paying with the "necklace" effect I spoke of before, the music coming and going as the scene progresses. This scene needs an Oscar too, as the hottest NON-SEXUAL performance EVAh! DO they give out that one? They should.

I'm not sure again of exactly what scene is next, but I remember the Victoria-Riley love scene ("Rolling In On A Burning Tire" by The Dead Weather playing in the bg) and I thought: "Didn't Stephenie write a book specifically for this movie?? HOW COULD THEY MISS THE TINGLING BRUSHING KISSING SOUNDS?!!?" .... Srsly, only a looser of my magnitude would focus on that but I wanted to hear it and it never happened... same when Alice and Jasper's kiss during the training scene, no vampire kissing sound. Bleh....

Next, there was new opportunity to plug in "Heavy in your Arms" as they carry out the "Newborn distraction" plan and Jake carries Bella again. AAAHHHH!!!! It's the heartbreak all over again! *shrug* So we finally get to the tent scene. Ahhh the TENT SCENE!

Lawl.

Well, what can I say of this particular passage that hasn't been said before. Very close to the book and you can feel the tension and then the relaxation of the boys. Of course for me it was just OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG TAY TAYS BODY!! OMG TAY TAY'S CHEST!! OMG OMG OMG NIPPLESSS!!! But yeah, a fan favorite scene generally speaking. It would've been fun to watch Eddie violently waking up Jake but it wasn't so important. The next day, battle day, we see little Seth. Cutie cutie pie! --- Skimming skimming skimming--- JACOB-BELLA KISS!!!!! Was it just me or was this the most epic kiss in the whole series -so far-!?! MY GOD!! WHAT A KISS!! And that scenery! WOW!!! David is TOTES team Jacob giving him a kiss like this in the movie. Whoaa!!!! I can almost taste those lips... AAGGGhhhhh!!! Mr. Lautner, sir, you drive me crazy.

This doesn't come out in the movie but I love the pic, very wolf-ish...

The battle, the moment we have been preparing for. Well, we got some of that much promised violence and action, I had fun watching how they got broken, EXCELLENT!! Just as we imagined it, rough and brutal, I'm STILL missing the vampire superspeed but at this point I just wanna see some newborns get crushed!!!! CRUSH 'EM ALL!!!! *evil laugh*. I love that we can see some sparkles here and there, more would have been better but I'm so excited I forget about it soon. The FX are awesome! Here are some behind the scenes of the fight, pretty interesting stuff, lots and lots of work.

And then the Victoria-Riley/Seth-Edward fight scene. Some more Epicness!! Whee!! Riley looses a hand!! OOOHHH!!! MOAR!!! MOARRRRRRRRR!!!!! Oh yeah, when Victoria is about to run again and Edward yells that she won't have another opportunity like this, she turns around and is PISSED. Too long I stared at her angry face... srsly it was like 10 seconds of Victoria's face. WTF! Anyway, PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH!! SWOOSH! CROUCH!! GRAB!! PUNCH!! SETH!! RAAWRRRRR!!! BATTLE BATLLE BATTLE!! PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!

Bella cuts herself!!!! I've never been too clear about this, does she really cut herself in the book? Wait--Let me re-read that:

"They needed help. A distraction. Something to give them an edge. My hand gripped the stone spike so tightly that a support in the brace snapped. Was I strong enough? Was I brave enough? How hard could I shove the rough stone into my body? Would this buy Seth enough time to get back on his feet? Would he heal fast enough for my sacrifice to do him any good?

I raked the point of the shard up my arm, yanking my thick sweater back to expose the skin, and then pressed the sharp tip to the crease at my elbow. I already had a long scar there from my last birthday. That night, my flowing blood had been enough to catch every vampire’s attention, to freeze them all in place for an instant. I prayed it would work that way again. I steeled myself and sucked in one deep breath. Victoria was distracted by the sound of my gasp. Her eyes, holding still for one tiny portion of a second, met mine. Fury and curiosity mingled strangely in her expression."

So, she was just about to cut herself and in order to gather courage, she gasped and THAT's what distracted Victoria, correct? I mean, that's what I was getting from that paragraph and I always remembered that she HADN'T cut herself. So watching her do it in the movie was EPIC! I was actually PROUD of Bella!! I was like: WHOA!!!! SHE DID IT!!!! O.O!!!! Then Edward bit Victoria's neck off. Is it okay to say that a LOVED that??! I mean, killing isn't nice, but BITCH HAD IT COMING!! It was soooo... POWERFUL! GO EDDIE!!!!!!!!!! :O!!

Scene at the clearing, Jacob gets hurt and HELLOOOOooo NAKED JACOB!!!!!!!! YES I SCREAMED!!! AAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Volturi arrive, do their threat thing, we see that very teeny tiny reference to "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" where Edward read Bree's mind and insinuates to Jane that he knows what's going on. Felix kills poor Bree, her screams were spine chilling. The Volturi leave.

And so we get to Jake's house. Now HIS screams.... his screams made me want to cry!! Poor poor Jacob. He sweaty and in pain and just waiting to get all the breaking done in one shot. AAAAaawwwwwwww.... okay fine, I cried just a little bit. ONE TEAR. T.T

And then we close again at the meadow scene with one last WTF moment: What the EFF was up with that speech? That the choice was between the Bella she is and the one she want to be jabber jabber jabber jabber.... ummmmm.. NO! just.... NO. Way to ruin the epic finale. And I missed Jacob running off at the end. U.U

Ups:
-This movie is almost completely a transcript from the book minus the boring stuff. Good job Melissa, stick to the book , stick to the book.

-Excellent direction, all the actors improved their prefomance, Kristen wasn't as annoying as the first two movies, Rob excelled as Eddie (as usual) and Taylor IS Jacob, so, that was awesome too... We get a lot more from the rest of the cast so, YAY! A complete serving of veggies!! (pun intended).

-Lotsa fan service. Srlsy there are some details they missed but we did get some stuff, Alice's yellow porshe, Meadow scenes, lotsa shirtless Jake...I mean, it was such a orgy of Twilight epicness!!!

Downs:
-Mostly the hair styling was bad. All the vampires were WEIRD. Kristen's wig was tame in comparison to what I thought it was going to look like, but still kinda weird... and Eddie's style.. OMG NOOOO... see, in Twilight, he opted for the "James Dean" hottie/stud look, and this is how Eddies hair is described,

I know it rains a lot in Forks but this in INEXCUSABLE!!!! Dx Just 'cause your hawt, doens't give you a reason to let all the pretense go to hell!! "Take care of that" - Lol.

Anyway, there are MORE ups and downs which I will address after I see it a fifth time and analyze it again. :B

Twilight Saga: To New Moon's/Chris Weitz's defense.

I have seen Eclipse. I will get into it but for now I need to say that arguments that Eclipse is "better" than NM and Twilight are GRAVELY mistaken. Yes, Eclipse is on the way to becoming my fave as well, but let's not confuse something being "good" with something being a "favorite".

Where can I start? Twilight. Yeah I guess I need to start there. Twilight was good... no wait, it was GREAT, not excellent but what it accomplished was pretty decent. It lay down the groundwork. Catherine made Fx the traditional way, no CGI except for Edward's sparkling and the indie feel made it very sweet and special.Of course the ONE THING it absolutely HAD TO GET RIGHT was the meadow scene... that was the ONLY thing that should've been EPIC and it wasn't... it was chopped up using rat teeth, dipped in rotten eggs, deep fried with vinegar, put in the blender with vomit and served with a twist of poop. NAILED the sparkles though.

I also had a few problems with the dialogues like the "Monkey spider" line, and the unnecessary tree climbing scene and other details like specific sound effects and makeup screw ups, but Twilight is on it's own plane since it introduced the world, the characters, the tone and the path to follow.

So when New Moon came out, I guess we were expecting a continuation of that world, but it wasn't, it was almost a new world with the same characters. Now of course New Moon is boring! The whole book is a mess, in fact I went through that book hoping it would end soon and like most of the Twilighters, I was just waiting for Edward to come back, and even when he did, it was still dull, the book is highly BLAH. If we take all this into consideration, New Moon movie was taken up 2487034005469830412.3 notches!!! Seriously, The movie was not only entertaining, it drained all the dullness out! So if we're talking translation from boring book source to action packed entertainment, I think the most successful of the three books is without a doubt New Moon. I do have a few problems with it which I 've already addressed HERE.

The problem with Eclipse... errr... well I'll get into that soon enough but sufficient to say that there is no way it could have gone wrong since it followed the book syllable by syllable, I think I can practically count the lines that WEREN'T stripped off the book identically. Not a bad thing, just sayin' it couldn't have gone wrong. This book is already a fan favorite so it's EFFORTLESSLY a movie favorite as well while NM required much effort just to EXIST. It's like.... Who get's more credit? The girl who exercises, does her hair, wears makeup and puts much effort into looking GOOD or the girl who is just naturally pretty? ... Seriously, not everyone's lucky to be naturally pretty. Your effort is greatly appreciated Mr. Weitz, I believe you turned a rotten apple into a crunchy juicy one.

Yummeh!

I'm hoping to watch Eclipse a third time and write my review, but I can say now Mr. Slade is so full of win!

Before I run to the movies and watch Eclipse a second time around and come back to offer a decent review, I need need NEED to post this. This was on the Wall Street Journal blog linked by the always awesome Twilight Lexicon.

Tom Barrack is one of the biggest real-estate deal-makers in the world. But recently, it turns out, Mr. Barrack has also been doing some soul-searching—thanks to Stephenie Meyer’s popular vampire-novel series, “Twilight.”

This is a memo that Tom Barrack sent encouraging his employees to consider outside points of view, of course I have skimmed it down to the Twi-part essencial.

"Here is my macho take – Stephanie Meyer is a total genius. As I flipped through the pages I was startled by the lack of detailed description of Bella and the surgical and illuminating development of Edward. As hard as I tried I could not really picture Bella, but I was grabbed by Edward’s character – gorgeous, super human, super strong, super fast and most importantly encompassing the wisdom of a 109-year-old man in the guise of a 17-year-old boy.

The description of Bella on the other hand, was not moving, or compelling. What I realized is the genius of Stephanie was that she knew that by keeping the character generic, any and every woman could climb inside and picture herself in Bella’s shoes. Thus the fascination and deep emotional reactions to what many (including myself) thought was a foolish teenage trashy novel.

I definitely got that the “anticipation” was much more romantic and sexy than the “consummation” to the woman. Slow, patient, caring, tender…. (guys have you heard those words before?) I found him incredibly appealing as he was taking care of Bella, putting her first, distancing himself from her to protect her and yet never being able to get her out of his mind. The relationship stood the test of time through many years, other men, family challenges and misconceptions of valiant and loving acts. A human relationship with a vampire is challenging on many levels, the least of which being you get older as your partner remain timeless. It was enticing, captivating, alluring…and dangerous. Through it all she believed that she could do it…. change her life… change his life…make it different…in spite of what conventional wisdom dictated.

Every woman longs for the anticipation, the romance, the journey, the taboo, the patience, and the attentiveness. Men, however, are all about the destination, the result, the speed and the outcome. The journey is merely penance to get to the destination. Which is why despite the vampires and werewolves, this book is kryptonite to most men.

Here is my point. The idea of devoting half a day to reading these books was something that never, NEVER, entered my mind as something I would ever, EVER do. I hated them. I mocked them. It made no difference to me that over 20 million books were sold, movies made, and Team Edward and Team Jacob pandemonium had engulfed the world. I was simply stuck in my point of view.

Once I ventured into the books I learned something. I now understand why some women are emotionally altered from merely reading a book. I have also gained a deeper realization that understanding the circumstances and points of views of those with whom we are negotiating, working, living, loving or fighting is the key determinant factor in an enduring relationship."

I absolutely adore a MAN who "gets it". His letter touches some other very interesting points, and I love that he came to a conclusion, pointed it out and wasn't ashamed to admit HOW he got there. TWILIGHHHTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT!

I'm so sick and tired of the haters... latest haters: TWITTER?! .... yes, they fucking blocked Eclipse/Eclipse Movie/Twilight/Twilight Saga and other similar tags from becoming Trending Topics because they "feared" it would create some kind of "spam" ---what.. WHAT?! I thought that was what TTs are for!! LOTS of people talking about the same thing! Of course it's SPAM! How can the term "VUVUZELA" remain a TT for weeks (even though they allegedly altered the code to prevent the "Justin Beiber TT syndrome")... I mean, people were talking ALL THE TIME about vuvuzelas around the planet! What damage could just one little movie make? T.T They stole our moment.

Twilight Saga: Pre Eclipse Feelings.

Okay, the movie officially premiered this past Wednesday and already breaking all kinds of records, but I won't be watching it 'till Tuesday or Wednesday, when the vast majority of the twihards have watched it already. Yes, I know I can be considered a twihard but each movie is such an IMPORTANT experience for me, I hate getting my fantasy interrupted by other screaming girls, so I'd rather wait. In preparation for the movie, I've been listening non-stop to the soundtrack. For the Twilight movie, my fave song was "Full Moon" by The Black Ghosts, "Slow Life" by Grizzly Bear for New Moon and definitely "Heavy in Your Arms" by Florence & the Machine for Eclipse. I'll go absolutely NUTS if this song is playing while Jacob is carrying Bella.... CRAZY I TELL YOU!! *0*!

(8) I'm so heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy in your arms (Then diet! Lawl)

For the first two movies I heard fabulous comments from the fans and horrible reviews from the critics and haters, but for Eclipse I've heard nothing but incredible comments!! I'm so excited and relieved!

Also in preparation, I have watched almost every single interview out there, read magazines, blogs, watched late night shows and watched the Live Premiere online, you know, pretty standard stuff for any twihard actually, and I have come to a conclusion that has stunned myself and rendered me speechless, and I'll say it here because I'm free in my own blog, so here goes:

I LOVE KRISTEN STEWART.

I used to well, not HATE her, I was just extremely uncomfortable watching her, and I wasn't completely sold on her portrayal of Bella, specially around the New Moon time, she was particularly darker and getting my nerves, a great unconscious feat right there, it's hard to get on my nerves.

But this time around her confidence, openness and I dunno, I guess her newfound place in the world has made her ADORABLE. Of course she still has to pass the ECLIPSE test but I'm pretty sure it will be great. And Last night just MADE it for me. This is when I said. I LOVE YOU KStew:

"Papa Stew!! Chile verde!! CREPÚSCULO!! Fans are great, come up anytime!" Joe!! They finally kiss!!"

Yup. I love her. Plus she and RPAttz had the ROBSTEN thing going on FULL FORCE during the premiere and I was NOT uncomfortable with that, in fact... MOAR PLZ!

AWww...Tay Tay looks left out... C'mere my beautiful one, we can invent own own item... we could be TayCyn or... CTay or.. TCyn...Taythia... Cynlor..... man, they don't sound right! Our awesomeness together shall compensate for that. XD!

Speaking of TayTay, here is a video of Studio Tippet making a wolf Jacob scene featuring Teletubby/Ninja Tay (mentioned during the Twilight Convention in LA last month). I haven't seen the movie yet, but the screenshot of wolf Jake and Bella made me yell, I can only imagine the roller-coaster of emotions during the actual movie! This scene in the book captured my imagination so much, I was lost in the fantasy and the intimacy (and since the reader basically assumes the role of Bella while reading, it becomes a PERSONAL experience). Of course, you have to laugh out the Teletubby costume before you can get the feeling, so, go ahead... laugh.

Twilight Saga: The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner.

Stephenie Meyer wrote this book initially to guide the production of the Eclipse Movie through what was going on in Seattle while the main love triangle did their thing, but Is now available for all Twihards to read. Bree Tanner is a newborn from the army of vampires that Victoria created in order to defeat the Cullens and kill Bella...

Spoiler Alert

I'm not going to describe the book. Bree appears briefly at the end of the Eclipse, but as I read other people's opinions, I began to feel a bit worried. Opinions varied so much! Of course there are always the haters of this saga who insisted the books were too bad to even try reading this new book, others thought that it was lame and boring, some other super crazed over-hyped fans were all over it, praising every word and saying how good it was, but there was one comment that kind of stuck in my mind, someone had said: "I hate Stephenie for killing off Bree". What?!? Bree was a newborn vampire with no other thoughts but BLOOD, how could you feel for a character like that?, but then, even Stephenie herself mentioned how increasingly difficult it became to bring this character to it's inevitable death, which we all know happens. I freaked out. If Bree could be loved in such a short novella, then there must be something interesting going on....

So I read it.

And I cried.

It's not really a deep story with profound personalities, or reflections on human conditions or political satire, just like the rest of the Saga it is a simple tale told in a simple language, but just as the rest of the books, it has a very special way of wrapping your mind with a soft smelling, delicate silk. It touches other vampires traits like coming out in the dark and feeding angrily on humans, and it touches special aspects exclusive to the Twilight Saga, like the sparkling, which was the scene that had me in awe. Just a tiny passage where she and Diego discover what happens under the sunlight, I could imagine their expressions, self discovery, self knowledge, and how they stared at their hands lost in their own beauty. God! I love these sparkly vampires. There were other three things in particular that I really enjoyed reading about.

-The sound of two vampires kissing, "brushing, ticking sounds" to be precise. I never had actually thought of this, but now it strikes as such an OBVIOUS detail, but I'm glad she mentioned it, now we know what the Cullen household sounds like all the time, what with all four horny couples hanging around the house 'n stuff... xD!

-Also, quite impressive to learn the Volturi were much more involved than we though, I mean, we knew that they weren't late to the fight by accident, it was quite purposeful, I won't go into details but I was totally freaking out!

-Loved the part where Bree communicated everything she had learned to Edward, this is where I felt that she had served a much greater purpose than just sit there...

I cried at the end even though I knew what was coming because I could feel Bree's pain, not her physical pain, but all the pain she went through that brought her to this moment... all these newborns were just ignorant, uneducated. I thought that the fact they didn't burn in the sun was the very first myth they realized wasn't true, but they never sought out to prove the veracity of it, they were blinded by old folklore, myths and lies. Control.... Oh!! Hey, look at that!! Political Satire! I see what you did there Steph. NICE!

So, yes, I enjoyed The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner very much, learned about being introduced in this world and discovering yourself. Seriously, that scene in the dark cave were she discovers the sparkling effect under the beam of sunlight will stick in my head forever as a beautiful moment.

Now that I have some sense as to who these newborn were (not really but kinda) I can't stop thinking that the bald guy is the movie's trailer is this Raoul guy....

but he's probably this other one...

Oh, and I imagined Bree's friend Diego looked like Madonna's boy-toy Jesus Luz, y'know, hispanic, curly hair, full lips, beautiful.... LAWLAGE!!! XD!

I really need to get back to blogging, I'm missing it so much, for instance I want to review "The Vampire Diaries" Season Finale! I rarely scream out loud as much as I did!! Wow, Vampire Diaries is just so awesome... but today, we are going to my first love, The Twilight Saga, and just a some funny stuff I've found around the web.

First, I'm not really a fan of parodies, only the occasional skit will make me laugh (i.e. Jimmy Fallon's "Bothered with Robert Pattinson WITH Robert Pattinson") and Twilight, being as successful as it is, it's only normal that we expect a bunch of parodies coming from ...well, anywhere. And such is the case of MAD magazine. I've never had in my hands a single issue of MAD magazine, never have I flipped through the pages and never had enough interest to even Google any article, but this parody I WILL have. It's so cute!! I really enjoyed these preview pages, I love the the fact that not one of these panels has dialogue, I love the playfulness of the themes and I specially love that they're not degrading the franchise for a few laugh's sake, they took a few scenes and harmlessly showed us the funny side. I am VERY interested. I'm tired of people hating on Twilight, it's not even cool to hate it anymore. Granted, it's no literary masterpiece, but there is a certain magic it produces within the reader's perspective, addictive in a certain way. AAaaaanyway, on to teh funnehs!!

TayTay and RPattz are the cutest, sweetest beings in Hollywood..... California.... the States?? THE WORLD! and not just because they're both ridiculously hawt. Robert is genuinely FUUNY and TayTay is just soooooooooo sweet! I love them both! After watching these two promos for the 2010 MTV Movie awards, I remember why I'm so obsessed. LOLOLOL at DIRT!!!

TayTay said on Oprah that he didn't consider himself funny, which I know how that feels, I don't consider myself funny either, but you don't need to be funny, my gorgeous gorgeous one. I take you as you are, I prefer your sweetness. I LOVE YOU!! Ohh, and Michael K from Dlisted would strongly suggest you be careful around Tommy Girl, lest you would like to be SMELLED by him again.

Twilight Saga: Three wasted hours

That's right, I wasted my time and creativity FOR NOTHING. Of course I'm entering in any possible contest to win and have a chance to go to the Eclipse Premier a.k.a. meet TayTay, so I did this Nordstrom/Polyvore fashion contest, which consisted in creating a style using the Eclipse inspired clothes form Nordstrom using the website Polyvore. The only rule I saw regarding the items I could use was "USE AT LEAST ONE NORDSTROM PIECE"... and so I went full designer mode and created THREE sets. I actually like them a LOT!!!!!!

Yeah well, tuns out that when I wanted to submit it, I CAN'T use Polyvore's items, only Nordstrom's, which are very limited BTW. So... there go my three hours......

Wizard of Oz: The Ruby Slippers

I think I've mentioned a few times before that I'm a fan of the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie, mostly because of the "Girl trying to find her way home, the place where she truly belongs and making incredible friends in the process, having dangerous encounters and finding that one holds one's own key" metaphore, but what I have never-ever confessed that much of the appeal the movie has on me are the damn "RUBY SLIPPERS" .... I AM OBSESSED with them and I don't even know why but I can't stop staring at them either on the movie, posters, dolls, figures or wherever they are depicted. O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D I tell you!

I recently bought some converse shoes that were red and sparkly, yes, totally reminiscent of the movie shoes.

So after all these rambling with look-alike shoes, it should come to surprise to no one that I would absolutely DIE of enjoyment if I had some replicas of the ones in the movie. OH WAIT!!! What is this?!?! They're selling replicas on Ebay!?!?

In 1938, MGM commissioned fashion designer, Gilbert Adrian, to fashion their Technicolor fantasy: The Wizard of Oz. After numerous script revisions, it was Noel Langley who turned Dorothy’s silver slippers into Judy Garland’s Ruby Slippers. After numerous attempts to satisfy Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer executives, Gilbert Adrian had success in his final design of the Ruby Slippers. Little did anyone know that Adrian’s Ruby Slippers would go down in history as the most iconic costume ever to grace the silver screen.

Up for auction is a set of identical re-creations of Judy Garland’s famed Ruby Slippers from MGM’s The Wizard of Oz. These slippers are created on vintage size 5B silk 1930’s stock pumps. They are lined in creamy white kid leather and feature an embossed Innes Shoe Co. label on the right instep. The shoes have been dyed a crimson red, and feature hand-tailored silk organza overlays. Each overlay has been hand-stitched with over 3,500 blood red translucent sequins. The deep red color was imperative because MGM’s three-strip Technicolor required intense lighting. The final adornment on the Ruby Slippers is a strap leather bow, dyed a deep red color. Each vintage rhinestone, bugle bead and emerald-cut center stone has been hand-stitched to the red leather bow- then attached to the toe of each pump. Finally, the soles are painted in a deep red enamel, and orange felt fixed to the foundation of each shoe. This was done so Garland’s footsteps could not be heard on Metro’s plywood Yellow Brick Road.

Yes!!! And they're WEARABLE beacuse the other replicas are for display only. These aren't half bad, but neither are they half good. I totally enjoy the sort of striped pattern of the sequins is the original design, whereas these have a circular pattern and it doesn't look bad, just doesn't look bas-ASS. xD!

Anyway. I found some really interesting videos about the origin and ultimate fate of the "Dorothy Ruby Slippers", it's actually quite interesting even if you're not into the shoes at all.

I have recently begun watching the Big Bang theory and I am becoming a fan!! I just can't get enough Sheldon as part of my healthy diet.

I'll confess that they made me cry, I know there is nothing sad about this series, but this is the episode that triggered the water-works:

I cried because throughout the series, you get small glimpses as to how much Sheldon really loves Spock, and the present he received was REALLY REALLY special. I loved the gesture and you can see how moved Sheldon is. I once recieved a gift like this (My L'Arc-en-Ciel LIVE and LIFE photobooks) and I love the feeling of getting something so incredible that you can hardly believe it!

So, I cried of joy. :)

And if a series makes you really feel it and CRY, means that the show is TOTALLY worth watching. So, YAY!

Fashion: Emma Pillsbury from Glee

I've watched all episodes of the first season of Glee series, I'm not really fond of musicals so I'm biased, but since it is such a huge hit I wanted to know what the fuzz was all about and decided to leave all prejudices behind and watch it with an open mind...

NO, it's not growing on me AT ALL, I am soooooo over it, even though my beloved Kristin Chenoweth and my girl-crush Anna Camp star in a few episodes... just... NO. Seriously, what's with all the hype behind this?? (I guess I could say the same about the Twilight Saga, bleh...)

Anyways, I'm not going to talk about the show, I don't like it. But what I DO LOOOOVVVEEEEEE is Emma Pillsbury's Style, mostly because she uses lots of bows and very pretty color combinations which is basically the way I try to dress, as combined as I can.

Twilight: MORE DOLLS!!!!

Ohhh here we go again!! TOYZZZAh!!!!Why do they do this to me!?!? I LOVE TOYS and FIGURES Damn it!!!! So here are some new (and others not so new) Twilight toys. The newest is the Jacob Black Tonner doll. Hmm.....

Let me think... errr.. no.

I mean, yes of course I will be buying most of these dolls (minus Bella) but I have mixed feeling for every brand. Let's start with Bella.

1.The Neca Version 1 is kind of faithful, kinda ok.
2.Mattel is VERY CUTE, I really like this version of Bella, they're not aiming to represent Kristen, rather ANY girl.
3.Tonner Doll is pretty too, however the REPAINTED version gives this doll the awesomeness it needs.
4.Neca Version 2 Is completely Bleh and as Kristen said so herself, kind of masculine.

The Edward dolls also have issues.

1.The Neca Version 1 Looks weird, scared.
2.Same as the Bella Barbie Doll, This doll isn't designed to resemble Robert, but I think his face looks too old for a 17 year old. Of course I lovein on the sparkles!
3.Tonner Doll is best REPAINTED, but this one is cool too.
4.Neca Version 2 Is awful. Just awful.

Jacob Dolls however have a different points.

1.The Neca Version 1 Is absolutely gorgeous!! it looks exactly like Tay, his face is an identical match snd his torso is as yummeh as the real thing.
2.This Barbie Jacob is weird. I mean he looks like Tay, but with Ken eyes.... Oo
3.Tonner Doll looks very good, except for the glossy lips.
4.Neca Version 2 is cool, but not as much as the first one.

The Jacob Faces ARE Taylor's, but, just different kinds of Tay... it's weird. Neca FTW!

Contrary to popular belief, this blog isn't *only* about sparkles, TayTay and nonesense, I'm fan of a bunch of things that I don't always write about. This time, it'll be about design.

Here's the thing. As anybody else, I live listening to my iPhone (and iTouch before that, iPod before that and Discman before that and Walkman before that) and I always go through earphones ridiculously fast. My ipods include standard Apple earphones and I never have them for long; I either pull them too hard and snap the cable, accidentally bang them and break them or throw them carelessly into my bag only to find the various components hanging out and the cover is nowhere to be found.

This is such a common story for me, and lately I have destroyed one too many headsets. I had my last Ipod's headphones, my iPhone ones and I bought an extra pair.... and all three, just... GONE. There were ones that I even BIT... WTF!

I started to buy really cheap disposable ones and of course a normal set of disposable earphone would last a normal person about a month, but with me, maybe a day or two.

My conclusion was that I needed GOOD QUALITY earphones. At Target I found the awesome Pink SkullCandy headphones that are now so famous. Not suprisingly, I pulled on the cord too hard and killed them. Luckily I found the exact same ones at BestBuy and bought them, had them for three weeks and then...

Yup, I snapped the headband in two. Solution: combine the two broken ones to get a new one.... of course that wasn't of much use either...pulled too hard on them AGAIN...

So now that they were lost, time to get some new ones. Now I got some Zumreeds. The design is really simple and RED. LOVE these headphones, they're light and bendable, and of course the sound quality is excellent too. The problem: A new playful basement kitteh....

A trip was coming soon, new headphones were a necessity. I went into a toy and figure store at a mall and for some reason they were selling headphones, and out of nowhere I heard angels singing from the heavens and saw a gleaming light coming from behind a packaged set: The Tokidoki/ Skullcandy collab headphones. I've been wanting these FOREVERRRrr *Tokidoki fan* and immediately bought them. Problem: too TIGHT!!!! My head hurts after half an hour or so!!! T______T

So we're back to zero again. Browsing through the internet to find new future broken headphones I found a bunch of new companies I never heard of before that also have really cute designs, and some have INCREDIBLE advetisment concepts. Here is a mash-up.

Avatar, Avatar, Avatar...

I heard this movie had been two years in production and was going to be one of the most expensive films ever to be produced, so it received a lot of hype and speculation.

For all those who have seen this movie (which I am assuming it's quite a few since it is now the SECOND highest grossing fim of all times), I'm sure that my words are insufficient to translate the magic we see on screen to simple and mortal words.

The magic of Pandora is so different from other fantasies. I have wandered through countless different worlds in my mind but I can say that Pandora is a sum of all my worlds... ON STEROIDS!!

Again, I won't go into describing the movie, I did so for others but this movie is just too long, and my adjectives for describing this masterpiece would be repetitive and redundant.

What transports us to this world is how incredibly accurate the rendering of textures and lights are, WE BELIEVE IT!, The last time I saw an attempt to make a fulllength movie with 3D characters and surroundings was probably FinalFantasy, Advent Children, and let me tell you, I never watched it to the end because the "plastic dolls" bored me... it was just... TOO FAKE.

Now, I understand there is an ABISMAL difference between character ANIMATION and MOTION CAPTURE. Animation is a lot more work than capture because the person doing the acting is not the actor, it's the animator, and trying to express emotion frame by frame is it's own art. Avatar was produced by the latter. It doesn't mean it's not good, it just means it was produced in a different manner. But we've seen motion captured characters for a long time in movies now, like JarJar Binks or Gollum, and most recently Pirates of the Caribbean that reached incredible levels of realism.

But this movie... it's not like watching a movie and pretending it's real, Avatar just takes you there.

Here is a Y! Behind the scenes video of how it was produced, the technology that was practically invented to achieve the look in their vision and all the work behind this incredible tale.

I am specially impressed at the levels they had to go to achieve maximum reality. Zoë is one of the actresses who impressed me the most. When I watched the movie, I thought her perfomance might be lost behind this CGI, but on the contrary, they enhanced each other. The way Naytiri cried and yelled when she lost her father is so intense, and all the movements we see are actually Zoë's. I always thought there was no way she could be so flexible, and here we have proof that it IS her.

The Character design is what draws me the most. At first the Na'vis seem weird to us, but when we see them in their develop in the "natural" environment, not only do they make sense and create the BELONGING effect, but you start seing them as GORGEOUS creatures. Granted Jake seems awkward and ugly at the beginning and then he was highly stylized towards the end, but who cares!! I heard countless women say the Avatar was a very attractive, even more so than Sam Worthington himself (and Sam is ONE HELL OF A GORGEOUS human being).

What made me fall for this movie were really specific details. The way the Na'vi's hair is braded and falls in natural movements, the way their skin glows in harmony with their forest, the etherial beauty of Naytiri's eyes, the sweetness that irradiates off Jake, the amounts of "particiles in the air" (seeds, dust, flowers, ash...), the glowy trees... mmmmhhhh...the wind. I honestly felt like I was really there (or maybe it was the theatre's A/C?? Hahahaha!!...)

And of course, just as the beauty of some elements amazed me, some other elements angered me,which we all know was the destroying of the HouseTree and Trees of Souls. But this is all good. A movie that makes you cry, get mad, fell happy or awe is indeed an excellent movie.

Downs: There really weren't downs. Of course we all know the story is not the most original (in spite of everyone saying it IS original in the video above) and while the story is the most important foundation for movie to be good, sometimes, it just has to take you there so you can believe and live it. Avatar takes you there and beyond.

So no downs actually.

Wait. No yes, only one. Please don't make a second part. I think they're just going to ruin the magic and try to squeeze a storyline out from a product that is fine as it is.... like a Lime, when you squeeze the first drops, it's all fresh and yummy, but if you oversqueeze it, it will be too bitter and have the sour taste of the skin.... and your hands will smell of the oversqueezed lime for hours.

So anyway, that's my Avatar review, which said NOTHING NEW or different from what almost everybody else is saying, but I still needed to get it out of my system.... now if only I could get a life size "battle ready" cardboard Jake Sully or some toys, I'll be a very happy being.

Ohh and as a final note: Avatar has inspired me so much these days. I plan to make a really heavily detailed drawing of Naytiri and Jake with their stunning eyes and glowy faces, but for now, this quick 5 min. fanart will have to do. XD.

Vampire Diaries: The rest of the Season.

OHHHH MY GOOD. Vampire Diaries is SO GOOD I don't even know where to start. SOOOOOO AWESOME.

Last episode I watched was one before Halloween. I really don't want to spoil anything for anyone so...

Warning: Spoilers all over the place.

So the Stephan/Damon Love/Hate brotherly relationship is SOOOoo complicated I can't even catch up, I don't understand why Stephan is so weak when it comes to him and why Damon is so obsessed in following Stephan around. Of course we will eventually know Stephan's "greater agenda" (because I'm assuming that just bringing back Catherine can't be IT, something else MUST be going on). But I really enjoy it that they do love each other, they keep saving each other's lives.

Of course the Elena/Stephan relationship IS GETTING TO ME. I hate it. I mean, I know that this is supposed to be a tortuous relationship but I'm getting really bored with all the "No, I can't, but yes I can, but I can't and now you can't and we both want but I can't but if you want, but now you can't......" *SSSNNNNOOOOORRRRREEEEEEEE* .... but at the end, they finally come around to IT, so, YAY!!!

And one of my faves, Bonnie... this being a witch thing is really making me interested, she is so cute and I am so glad she's not just a filler... in fact, even filler characters aren't fillers at all, they all have their little story, like Caroline or Jeremy... I was VERY IMPRESSED at what happened to both Vikky and Lexi, I never thought it would be so..... RADICAL! O.O!!!!!

But of course we all know... the one who totally PWNS this series is Damon. He cracks me up!!!!! He is so funny but so scary at the same time! -"Did you know, that witches can use celestial events to draw energy into their magic PFFT Me either!" HAHAHHAhahahaha.... "Anyway, a deals a deal....so.... are we going to throw some more??!" HAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHahahhahahahahahaha!!!! OMG I LOVE YOU DAMON/IAN!!!!!!!

The last two episodes were INCREDIBLE. Well, at least I had no idea what this series was going to take that direction. But we'll see.. I'm sure things will get a lot more complicated and fun. As long as we have a huge dosage of Damon, everything will be awesome. Also another thing that never ceases to amaze me from this series is the continuously formidable soundtrack.. song after song I wonder where they get all these incredible tracks... WHERE can I get the music?? It's soooo... catchy!!

New Season begins this week, SO STOKED!!! I follow Ian, Nina and Kat on twitter and they all seem like gorgeous people, always talking to the fans and helping out where they can, so kudos to them and I wish them much success. LOVE VD.

True Blood: Season Two.

So I finished watching the second season of True Blood a few months ago. I have new opinions and points of view. Lets start where we left off.

I was kind of hatin' on True Blood. Not because it was bad or anything, but because people insisted that TB was "better" that Twilight and used all the wrong comparative points. I didn't hate it really, I enjoy all vampire stories, I was just mad about the comparison.

My friend Enis told me Season Two of True Blood was completely different and SO IT WAS!! I won't go into describing the series or episodes, but a few twists and turns of the initial plot took this story to a different path. At first I was kind if disappointed that there were same elements in both Sagas: Vampire/Human romance, werewolves, shapeshifters and vampire ranks. I dunno.

Now, we have so many things happening. More Vampires including Jessica, Eric, and the Queen Sophie-Anne, more shapeshifters, well, just Daphne, The Fellowship of the Sun and OF COURSE... a Manead!!

This season managed to keep me very interested, though I still think the character Jason Stackhouse is unnecesaary and pointless, but I've read somewhere that the books revolve more around the Fellowship of the Sun part more than it does the MaryAnn part. I guess the Fellowship will have also a very important role in the future of the series.... OH!, and I have a girl-crush oh Sarah Newlin (the character, NOT Anna Camp) because of her innocent attitude and her accent. WEIRD!!!I know!!!!

There are things that made me overly excited, and that was to learn how much a vampire was connected to it's maker... Now I know there is always a special bond between these two, like a father/son and lover relationship, but I enjoyed that the True Blood kind of bond is so strong and absolute, as Eric told Lafayette: "You know how you feel with my blood in you all the time?? Being a vampire is like that, times a million" , and so Eric's pain of loosing Godric seems sooooooooo agonizing. I LOVE IT!! I always thought the closest relationships were Anne Rice's Marius and Armand, but I think they have some serious competition right here. xD Godric's last scene squeezed a tear out of me even though this character was only present for three episodes.

As far as I know, the manead wasn't so important or powerful in the books, she never had control over the whole town or anything massive like that, but who cares !? I actually loved that part more. My most favorite scene was the summoning of Dionisis. I.WAS.IMPRESSED. VERY IMPRESSED. This scene alone made me a fan. So, I declare myself a True Blood Fan.

So, what's in store for season 3?? Well, I've read comments here and there. Probably werewolves, more vampires, a new love interest for Lafayette and also for *GAG* Jason Stackhouse. Hopefully lots of AWESOMENESS.

I wonder when they're going to tell us that Sookie is a "****y".... I don't want to spoil THAT yet. XD....
